Star import reveals NBL ambition

http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/article/2013/06/14/367162_local_sports.html

As reported in the Geelong news papers, TW is keen to stay and any NBL team would be better with a player like this, would they not?

When I described what the Kings were after to one SEABL player, TW was the first name he thought of. Sadly though I do not think he's one of the players they are trialling.

One thing I have found surprising interviewing imports the past few years is how many of them were actually aiming to get to Australia, even some guys on big money OS.

Silly article by Geelong Advertiser. One player is dreaming of getting a call up to trial at a NBL club. Across town at Corio Bay Eric Williams has got the call up to trial for the Sydney Kings and yet they write an article about ambition of getting a call up....

Promoting the game is silly? Basketball needs all the positive press it can get. Congrats to Eric, hope he gets the job but why attack the local rag when they promote your sport in a positive light?
What is silly is your post... But this wouldn't be the first time...

Thanks anon. I missed that. All for promoting the sport but it was a nothing article. Most or all players should or want to play at the highest level possible. There could have been an article on a better subject, basketball related of course. Hoops in the region is going great in terms of participation and success of the teams in Big V and SEABL.

So, in fact two star imports who would be great additions to any NBL side next season...

bear - you could say 3 star imports if you want to include Mercer on the list, as O'Loughlin does name him in the article on Theron, as well as listing local guys in Herbert, Friend & McInerney.

As for the article on Williams being a "nothing article" - welcome to the world of the Geelong advertiser. Unless the journalists are writing about the Geelong Football Club the articles (particularly the sports section) tend to be shit, short and not uncommon for them to be factually inaccurate.
