Emus set for six-game Europe tour

The Australian Emus Under 19 Men's team head to Europe, embarking on the final phase of preparations today ahead of the 2013 FIBA Under 19 World Championship in the Czech Republic.

A 12-man squad has been named for the 12-day tour that will take in the host nation and Lithuania, with the tour concluding on June 4.

This is a good team but Damian Cotter said he wanted more height in the team and he has reduced it...

looking back at the pre-camp squad they dropped these guys;
Lual ACUIL (WA) 213
Jock LANDALE (Vic) 210
Jack LOPEZ (NSW) ?196?
Darcy MALONE (ACT) 213
Dougal WEIR (NSW) 206

they might not be good enough but surely take one at least who is over 208cm for defence and matchups..

the tallest guys in the team are around 204cm which is not enough for an international U19 comp.

We certinaly lack a bit of height, but we do have plenty of athletcism!

Those golden years of the NBL in the late 80's and early 90's are paying off in spades for our junior OZ teams right now! Plenty of 'son's of former import guns'...that stuck around and called Australia home.

how does Jonah Bolden compare to Ben Simmons? I've heard a lot about Simmons but not much about the young Bolden. he seems pretty athletic and talented 6'9" player, wondered what the difference in talent was between the two?

I didn't mean he can't play for the Emus at all, just not on this coming European tour, because he's still at school in the states and is therefore unavailable. The Emus have a pre-worlds tournament in late June, then the Worlds are end of June until early July, so theres a chance he could still play both of those.
