Centrals 14's won div 1 last season, made classics and nationals. This year they're undefeated throughout summer and winter, winning state champs. So not a surprise really.

16's are young but good and have a great coach as does the under 12's

Centrals boys are no longer easy beats.

Shepparton has qualified as the Vic Country Champions, therefore only 7 of the above can get through, I believe...

Does anyone know how many more games before the final cut is made?

In the under 18 boys the ladder looks like this, below, and Geelong has qualified as Country Champions so again probably the best 7 from this group will qualify:

POS TEAM P W L D B FF For Ag PC Pts
1 WAVERLEY 6 6 0 0 0 0 414 287 144.25 18
2 KEILOR 6 5 1 0 0 0 382 255 149.80 16
3 KNOX 6 5 1 0 0 0 338 274 123.36 16
4 DANDENONG 6 5 1 0 0 0 320 260 123.08 16
5 HAWTHORN 6 5 1 0 0 0 307 300 102.33 16
6 FRANKSTON 6 4 2 0 0 0 347 316 109.81 14
7 DIAMOND VALLEY 6 4 2 0 0 0 326 317 102.84 14
8 MELBOURNE 5 4 1 0 0 0 297 257 115.56 13
9 MCKINNON 6 3 3 0 0 0 315 328 96.04 12

#694 up until recently they weren't just easy beats they didn't even have div 1 teams in most age groups.

Still a long way to go. It takes years to build a club and months to destroy it.

It would have been 5 teams in the classics for centrals if they had of shown more respect and better development for the players and coaches that went to norwood/forestville/sturt.

If you don't look after it you loose it!

PS: that's in the girls program out there. I still think the current management at lions are figuring out where all that went wrong

Bear, Your listing of the Vic U16 and U18 teams isn't quite right. It is the top 4 teams in each conference that are considered, not the top 8 overall.

Therefore, it is possible that some teams could miss out because they are all in one conference which is stronger. This happened in a couple of age groups last year and definitely impacts the U14 team selections for Nationals.

@Flybynight, thanks I wasn't sure, so I will see what the results are this Friday and maybe post an update here next week??

It does make it a little unfair if you are in a stronger pool, for sure, but in the end I think only the top two or so will really be there in the finals...
