D-League & NBL

What is the skill level difference from these 2. Would a D-League star be a solid NBL import?

it varies between the two leagues. Sometimes you will find that a star in the d-league can contribute strongly in the NBL, other times a d-league star can fail (Tyndale, Ron Howard, etc)

I reckon in general if you average good numbers in the D-league you will do well in the NBL. As long as used in the correct role for you.

Tyndale is a good all round player, just not a natural scorer, will have the odd big game, but will basically do most things well with out dominating, would have been ok in a different role, ie had he played for the Dragons or a strong team where he didnt have to be 'the man'.Couldnt dominate a game consistently like Hodge could or the 36ers at the time needed. Could have done well in a Dave Thomas, Darden type role, maybe not as good as them, but yea still decent, been worse than him play NBL imo.

Howard, in D-league, handles the ball a lot, is a bit of a scoring combo guard, if given plenty of the ball and allowed to create for himelf would have done well, a bit like CJ massingale or even Willie Farley, but surprise surprise Marty didnt use him well, much like CJ was never going to succeed in a 'go stand in the corner and hit the open shot' type role, needs the ball. FWIW nor would LeBron, Kobe, etc, just shows Clarke had no idea how to use him. So again if used properly ie like Wollongong used Deleon, or Townsville use Ervin this year, ie given the ball, plenty of opportunity to go to work and at times slid to the sg spot next to a solid passing pg (Norton, Martin) could have easily been a success, would love to see someone give him another shot, but doubt it will happen. A massive frustration of Marty, I have watched Howard in a few D-league games, could have been a NBL star and one of the top scorers imo, ah what we could have had. He showed some glimpses but was never given the ball enough or enough freedom, if Lemanis, McLeod or Smyth had coached him would have been a different story imo. Ah what could have been ....(but we will never know.)
