Sturt rated a 9 must be an accident!

Keep in mind that these are external rankings. Players under contract retain their internal rankings which may be lower or higher.

Looks like a few reviews were up-held or rankings otherwise adjusted. Ballinger from an 8 to a 7. Forman from a 9 to an 8. Hill from 6 to 5. Lewis from 5 to 4. Burston from 7 to 5. Corletto from 8 to 7. Trueman 6 to 4. Allen 5 to 4.

Appeals that looked to have been rejected:
Gibson
Massingale
Bruton
Blanchfield

Wow a whopping 9 points taken off Crocs players who challenged from my calculations.

Holmes 8 to 7
Ben Allen 5 to 4
Michael Cedar 7 to 5
Norton 5 to 3
Pc 9 to 8
Hinder 7 to 5

Seems about right to me, there seemed to be a number across the league that were too highly rated.

Chris Cedar went from 4 to 3 as well, I think.

I'm guessing Sturt has fallen under the returning player rule

still a thing that needs to be abolished Imo l Understand why they have it but still its holding the league back imports should not be apart of the points total should have One marquee import per team and salary Cap Should be increased will be interesting to see what the NBL Comes UP with

So my Cats team would work

Knight 10
Dunigan 10
Martin 9 under contract not 10
Lisch or import 10
Wagstaff 6 under contract not 8
Barrlett 4 under contract not 6
Hire 6
Ellis 1
Lewis 4
Redage or wortho 10 or 9

That's 70 points with redage 69 with wortho.

Not bad I say

Knight
Dunigan
Wortho/ redage
Martin
Lisch/import

Would be one of the best starting 5 ever

Wortho and Ogilvy 9's.....thought they may have been 10's?

Thought Wortho would def be a 10.
2 Olympics, MVP at his last NBL team and good stats
in a top European League (prior to injury).
Has he done World Champs as well?
Why would Gibson be more?

I really do like that team and don't want to burst the bubble but wagstaff is an 8 internal and 9 external. not sure what Ellis rating is saw that heuir is a 3. Good to see trueman as a 4 that will increase his chances of getting picked up

Massingale shouldnt be a 7, surely his performances should have him rated lower. His chances of getting back into the NBL were limited but as a 7 you would think he has no chance.

Christopherson a 6,someone has a sense of humour!! Would be a bust as a 2!

How much then would the Sixers be now (Schensch, Creek, Cadee, Petrie, DJ, Gibbo + Import) if they managed to keep Weigh? Would love to see him stay, but if he does, how many points does that leave for the last 2 spots? Making a little assumption that we'll have at least one import.
(And yes, I could have tried working this out myself, but I get confused with Gibbo and Stevie’s points if they stay or leave!).

DJ 8 under contract
Petrie 7 under contract
Import 10
Gibson 10
Import 10

Schenscer 9
Pero 3
Hill 5
Cadee 5
Daly 3

70 points altogether. I had Weigh in there instead of Hill but that makes us 2 point over.

I still don't understand what it is that Wagstaff did during the year to see him rated one measly point less than Kevin Lisch.

And an entire point more than Oscar Foreman.

Foreman scared the bejeezus out of me during the year. I don't see anyone getting past mildly alarmed with Wagstaff.

Ogilvy a 9? Same with Wortho?

How does that work?

Other ratings look about right. Don't have a problem with them.

But if Knight and Nevill are 10s, Ogilvy has to be a 10 as well.

I seem to recall we went Cooper Dowdell Helliwell Pero instead of Sturt now a 9 .It's the price of fame I guess . Others may come along to pick up the journey .

Hill should never be suggested in a 36ers team..move forwards not backwards

Just wondering if the points system will still be in play when the league officially de-merges from Basketball Australia? I mean how can BA enforce it?

FYI
Years ago

There is a rule that says returning players who have been out of the NBL for a season and not played in the NBA are 9 points

EG Ingles would be a 9 - Jawai would still be a 10

So it is possible to leave the NBL a 10 and return a better player but be rated 9

Creek is a 6 and signed for next year, take Hill out and your 1pt over would have to go 1 import and keep weigh or drop pero for a 1 or 2pt rookie to get your 70 even as a wildcats fan that looks like a good team

Crocs re-ratings are spot on.

Ben Allen rated higher than Mitch Norton though haha.

Good for the Crocs I guess since Norton is coming back. Probably got a way with a bit of a steal there since Norton is probably a 5 as he was originally rated (he's super young though somaybe they factored that in...)

Crocs 8 points under the cap, which sounds about right given how poor they were. One WHOLE impact player away from being competitive (ie. swap ben allen out for a 10 point player).

Gruff - BA will most likely not have a say in whether points scheme continues to operate or not. Just as it won't have to enforce it nor manage any of the NBL's operations.

So salary cap, points system etc. will all be decided by the entity that will be set up to run the NBL. We should know what that will look like in a week, tomorrow.

DJ 8 under contract
Petrie 7 under contract
Forman 8
Import 10
Gibson 10

Schenscer 9
Weigh 7
Cadee 5
Creek 4
Rookie 2?
70 points altogether.

Instead of getting a second import sign Forman and Weigh so you know you are getiing 2 good players.
This also leaves the second import slot open in case of injuries.

Any system that can rank Adrien Sturt the same value as Mark Worthington and AJ Ogilvy is seriously flawed.

Sturt musnt have appealed his rating. He still can though if it's the difference between getting a job or not, but with only 8 teams cant imagine anyone being interested.

Sturt is building a compelling case to have been screwed by the points cap.

gee the cedar boys from townsville got a great deal with their reductions.

generally, most players are worth their points status yet nx breakers seem to have a few great players that dont get the 10. odd and yet won 3 championships in a row. ???
