Owen Odigie added to Melbourne TIGERS full roster

Nice to see Owen Odigie promoted to the full roster for the Melbourne Tigers next season. Great defensive player and athlete.

Interesting to see if he's added anything to his offensive game. Doesn't have a feel for the game whatsoever but the raw tools are all there.

How long has he been "raw" for?! Will make career out of D and hustle, never going to be a scorer of any sorts

Well he doesn't look like he started playing until later in life. Could be wrong but he seems like he's only been playing a couple of years. Hard to get a feel for the game in that time unless you are really special, especially when you are a wing player.

He's played all through jnrs. Three years at AIS?

3 years at AIS is pretty rare. Last one I remember was Jarred Wilson (?) from SA.

Owen is from Melbourne in Victoria and is in his third year as an AIS scholarship holder. Owen is an exciting athlete who runs the floor well and powers through players for rebounds and scores, he is also an excellent on ball defender. Owen represented Australia in 2011 at the World Championships for under 19 men held in Latvia. This year he will be continuing to work on his general ball handling and shooting skills plus his ability to create his own shot off the dribble. Owen will also spend some time with NBL clubs to help graduate his game to the senior level.
Height: 195cm

Position: Forward

dont question Owens ability. he can flat out hustle and plays the game hard. very rare in this day and age. going to be a handy option and future boomer one day.

For Owen to succeed at NBL level, he needs to develop a consistent outside shot. Wings that play elite level defence will always find a role, but it makes it much easier for them to play minutes if they can also hit open shots on offence.

Can anyone point me at the current Tigers roster because the players list on their website certainly doesn't? It still lists Flynn and Scott and not Odgiie.

Pretty poor attempt to sell themselves when they don't show any interest in keeping their info up to date.
