Luke Nevill WA State League

Saw this earlier on twitter, big game for Nevill.

"Luke Nevill came up huge for the Kalamunda Eastern Suns on Saturday.

The former Melbourne Tigers, Perth Wildcats and Townsville Crocs centre showed that he's ready for another crack at the NBA Summer League with an incredible display for the Eastern Suns.

Even though his team lost to the Mandurah Magic to remain winless this season, Nevill was simply amazing down low finishing with 47 points, 24 rebounds, four assists and three blocks.

He shot 19-of-38 from the field and the 7'1 monster even nailed a three-pointer and hit 8-of-10 from the charity stripe."

Sounds like a tough league...

I am actually surprised he didn't shoot a better field goal percentage. Realistically no one in that league (or any other local leagues) should be able to guard him (Unless its against another NBL center).

How would the WA league compare with CABL?

Curious to know how these stats would relate to the numbers NBL players put up here.

He is on the worst team in the league if it makes any difference.

Not NBA material until he starts grabbing rebounds on an NBL level.

Everything else is pretty much there. Strong, can finish, can shoot the jumper out to about 17 feet. Just can't grab boards even in the NBL when no one is close to his size (height and weight).

But yeah, that's a pretty big sticking point.

That is a great effort no matter how good/bad the team is.
But he may need to double that when they play the Wolves on Friday or it could be a 47 point blow out.

What did Daniel Johnson have the other year in Big V or SEABL or whatever it was? 60-something?

Edit: Looked it up, and here it is:

Melbourne Tigers recruit, 210cm Daniel Johnson, is playing for Melbourne in the BigV comp. On Saturday, against lowly Warrnambool, he went for 66 points and 15 rebounds in a 144-76 win.

25/32 FG, 0/2 3P and 16/18 FT.

66 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. All in 40:18.

Nevill took a lot of jumpers in the first half, got angry when he was getting hacked but no calls, so he started dunking on people. He's on a team of young players with no imports.

Going 19/38 is simply a disgrace from a 7'1 centre in any league

He is on a VERY young team who play a unique but dangerous style- once they get the hang of it they are going to destroy teams!
