Lightning sign Lewis and Payne

The Lightning have signed Amy Lewis and centre Nadeen Payne.

Rather than reeling from the loss of dual-league MVP Suzy Batkovic to Townsville, the Lightning have been busily retaining core players and now have Lewis and Payne to join Olympians Jenni Screen, Laura Hodges and Angela Marino.

Captain Jo Hill is considering her future and Adelaide also has offers in front of talented tyros Stephanie Talbot and Lauren Mansfield.

Still a decent team in Adelaide, Payne is a good young player and I look forward to her getting more game time without Suzi there.

Lightning are low balling everyone on contract offers. Talbot & Mansfield will most likely be out the door. Team won't be anywhere as strong as it's been the last 2 years.

It's not their strength that is the problem it's wether they can play as a team, something they didn't do the last two years! Good start with the signings hopefully they can get a few more, maybe a decent import.

We're do you get your info from regarding low balling on contracts , offers are confidential and at a guess with Suzy not being there they could then afford to pay the others . Players would have got other offers from other teams so if lightning offer wasn't up to scratch they wouldn't re-sign .
