The article discusses Joseph willingness to go and play in the D league and actually request Coach Pop to play in the D league, because he understands that playing and improving his game is better than sitting on an NBA bench.
Has Patty ever done this? may be he should and work on his D...he's had worse advice

Honestly, I think everyone has unrealistic expectations on Patty, yes, he's not the greatest defender, and yes, he'll probably never be a consistant starter in the NBA but that's fine. It's a league filled with guys who've carved out great careers with incomplete games. Patty's role is to be a spark off the bench and to put points on in a hurry which he does well.
There's probably less than 10 guys in the NBA who don't have a height advantage over him, so of all the people on the planet who are 6 foot or less (circa 90% of the population) he's one of the ten best at playing basketball. That's bloody good.

Lance, Patty was featured the other day for his towel waving in a San Antonio paper. Quite the contrast with the Joseph story: Patty's towel waving techniques image.

The question is, does he want to look back at his career and say, "yeah I got the best seat in the stadium to watch one of the best teams play day in and day out", or does he want to say "I helped win a championship"... Because at the moment, some could say he is content with being the next Gaze at the end of the bench
