You know who would be the best pick up out of all of those? Will Hudson!

Value for money, effort levels and PER is through the roof.

excluding the americans it is not a jaw dropping list can only hope for a good rookie class eg ellis, broekhoff or motum or some players to come back from overseas. In perth alot could depend on the Bevo situation but dont see knight or redhage leaving, lisch is a maybe but other than that only gibbo, nevill, a bruce or weigh could make a difference elsewhere

Hudson got better because of Lemanis let's him play his natural game, he wasn't amazing at the blaze

Hudson is a guy that would help most teams, but you have to match him up with a scorer or playmaker in the front court. His biggest strengths are hustling and rebounding and his play with the Jackson pick and roll has been pretty good. Good fit for him in NZ

Cairns want to re-sign Dusty?

He's finished.

Hudson wasn't bad at the Blaze either, they made the playoffs.

TeRangi is rumored to get Bouchers spot next season on the back of his work ethic at training.

Mystro, how do you see NZ going next season with the loss of Boucher and another year on Brutons knees? Obviously, retaining Jackson is the key but do you see them coming back to the pack even just a little bit?

Is this a bigger list than last year?

Jackson has got them over the line in a lot of close games so without him def back in the pack all be it at the top with the Wildcats and the Hawks IMO.

Theyll struggle without Jackson, just like theyve struggled without Penney and Wilkinson.

Oh
Daniel Joyce (Syd)

forgot him..

It is a little bigger than last year.

Jackson has said he will like to return if he doesn't get an NBA contract but at the same time I've heard Euro isn't out of the question as he's 27 and coming into his prime. So may want to cash in as much as possible.

Hard to say with Penney but I wouldn't rule out a return as he has publicly stated he wouldn't mind finishing his career with the Breakers.

Penney's 4th in Turkey in scoring and shooting at a good clip too.

Funnily enough, the Sixers went for Ben Allen a year or two ago, but Townsville put in a higher bid. Phew.

i think adelaide should re-sign marty clarke, keep christopherson, vasilijevic and go after ben allen and daniel joyce in free agency. this will keep adelaide in 8th spot where they belong

If KP comes back CJ would be retired most probably
But a NZ Breakers side with Jackson , Penney, Abercrombie, Vukona , Pledger . How's that for a starting 5?

Highly unlikely Dusty will be signed - he has played 30%?? of games in the last 2 years. Hard to keep coming back from injuries plus he isn't at the level of Loughton/Trig/Edwards anymore.

Grabua is very likely (his words) retire - when guys he has been playing against for the last 14 odd years are all calling it quits, you tend to feel old. Physically he can probably go another year, but mentally he is drained and ready to step aside for the young guys the Taipans have unearthed (Gliddon/Steindl/S.Bruce) to mature.

Taipans missed another big in the rotation - a defensive specialist who can plug up the key to support the offensive minded other 3.

Kerry W as far as anyone can tell will not be resigned by the Taipans. Hasn't had a good season since he came back from blowing his knee out 3 years ago and is not up to NBL standard. Shaun Bruce will play SEABL in the NBL offseason and will return to Cairns as backup to Jamar/Gliddon instead of Kerry (he was outstanding v NZ/adelaide when Kerry was injured). Shaun is also a cheap option as a rookie.

Unsure about Brad Hill's intentions. He has roots in the city now, but he has had to play 2nd fiddle to Grabau. With Grabua retiring Hill should take the starting spot with Steindl getting more minutes in his 2nd year with his defence picking up in the off season.

I believe we have only just started to see the full potential of Shane Edwards - Fearne has a habit of unearthing rough diamonds and Edwards took a while to polish up. He single handedly kept the Taipans in touch last night with everyone else floundering on the court. Word is that he wants to return with a full preseason to return the favour to Fearne for giving him a chance to come back from injury this season.

Dusty replacement - possibly Burston comes in as starting centre with Loughton / Edwards off the bench? Matt Andronicos is still pretty raw but has massive potential - will play QBL for the marlins to continue developing his physique and skills. Maybe a cheap option if they have to spend money elsewhere ie. Hill/backup big.

Gut wrenching way to end the season falling 1 W short 2 years in a row of a playoff spot but the Taipans have a solid base and finally dont have to make wholesale changes. I expect Fearne to lock in players within the next 4 weeks and work on his plan to correct the jitters the team showed all season.

Venom, who would you say Edwards is more committed too; the Cairns Taipans or Aaron Fearme?

If Fearme was to land a head coaching gig with another NBL team, say hypothetically the Sixers (and yes I know he is contracted for a further season with Cairns, simply speculating) is he also highly likely to strongly recommend Edwards fill the starting wing spot should it be vacated by the current incumbent?

Starters: Wilson, Gliddon, Edwards/Hill, Trigger, *Centre*
Bench: Bruce, Steindl, Hill/Edwards, *PF*, Loughton

Would be a good start. Andronicos still one more season away. After this upcoming season Wilson should look to naturalise if he wants to keep a job in this league though.
