Who are Cobras imports this season? Are Malvik and Blair back?

Miners play Geelong on weds night, rumors Miners signed 2 big named players.
Geelong women go down by 50 to Nunawading on Sunday. Fielded their whole team, only player missing was Blicavs. ouch..
Geelong women missing at least from the squad - no need for concern at this stage

Have the Miners signed another import or 2 aussies.Frankston really needs a 5 as teams will expose there lack of height.Geelong look like the standout team.
Geelong men vs Frankson - score was something like 28 - 6 at 1/4 time (only 1 scorer for Frankston, 2 x 3points) and at half time it was 57 - 17. Frankston struggled to get anything going offensively in the first half, but did come out stronger in the 2nd half but really couldn't make any inroads and Geelong had all the answers.
bizarrely, not sure who made the call but the teams went the opposite way to normal. At the Arena, usually you see the teams shoot to the same end as their benches in the first half and come home the opposite, and that is the way both teams warmed up on Saturday before the match, but for the first half they played the opposite ends. On occasions we have seen the away team try that tactic against Geelong to see if it puts them off their game, but normally they also warm up to the same end. Clearly it had no impact on Geelong so doubt we will see other teams try to implement that tactic during the season.

Sounds like the sacking of Raunchy was not such a great move by certain people within the club

Have watched training and theres nothing wrong with their offence, its all about execution and players not having to think but do it on instinct.Lack of height is a big worry.Dont expect any massive improvement in the short term but they will get better as the season goes on.Short term pain for long term gain.
Even a Marty Clarke coached team would have a chance against Ballarat
Geelong will be without Seb Loader & Mike Mercer's for tonight's hitout. Changing anyone's predictions or just the margin?
Was it an improved performance by Frankston compared to Saturday, or just a case of Kilysth being the slightly better of 2 lesser sides?

Improved performance by Frankston but along way to go.Need to get everybody on the same page...
Frankston were much better. Their two guards make a big difference.
Geelong ran out winners by about 10pts (sorry can't remember the final score), on the back of a tough match.
For the first 3/4s of the game it seemed that Ballarat barely missed a shot, I would have had them shooting at over 50%, whatever they put up seemed to drop and if it didn't then the rebounds seemed to fall their way more often than not (some good height with the guys who played tonight). Even when Geelong had open looks under the basket the ball was determined to stay out of the ring.
Ballarat seemed to be able to get the lead out to 6-8 points with ease while their shots were dropping, at one stage in the 3rd their lead was out to 12 and it looked like they would run away with it, but Geelong kept pegging them back to stay in touch before dropping back again.
The game changed in the 4th when Kris Blicavs sat with just under 8mins to go after picking up his 4th foul - he was the player holding them together and making the right moves. With Kris on the bench Geelong went on a run, got the lead & never gave it up. Kris returned to the game for not too long before fouling out. Also didn't help that their shots stopped dropping, while Geelong started making the most of their chances.
Ballarat put up a better fight than Frankston did and if they play with the same intensity that they did tonight, they may trouble a few sides over the course of the season, but they need to keep the pressure up over the 4qtrs and not drop back when the bench guys are called upon.

The Miners only had 3 on their bench, difficult to rotate and foul trouble would have hurt them a bit more than the Supercats with 6 on their bench.
Both teams had key players missing but I agree that the Miners showed some form for most of the game that will keep their fans interested.
Supercats seemed a bit flat until their team play they got some action going in the final quarter...
