Larry Davidson broken rib injury

Copped a knee to the ribs from Dunigan in the Perth game. Could tell it wasn't good when he stayed on the ground for as long as he did, even though the move looked like a straightforward defender-against-driving-big situation.

The Hawks are already missing Coenraad and Demos, so will be light on players for this round's two games.

Dunigan should be reported for raising his knee

If you're taking off from one leg, don't you have to raise the other leg (and knee) when jumping?

I wondered if it still could've been offensive, regardless of the charge circle, because of the knee, but didn't look reportable.

Could be reckless? Hawks may be in trouble in the next few games, they will be very small around the bucket. Could drop both games and be back in the pack if their not carefull.

Dunnigan did nothing out of the ordinary, except for not try and move out of the way of the defender. He isn't obliged to either.

Larry was brave enough to put his body on the line but it didn't end well.

Well that would be the reason why Gordie didn't play Davidson near the end of the 4th.

Players at all levels get coached to raise their knee in order to extend their reach on layups.
I don't see any difference even up to the NBL or NBA - knees get raised all the time.

The refs should be able to tell the difference between raising the knee legitimately versus when it's intended to intimidate.

The refs can see the difference, and thats why they didnt call it an offensive foul. Unfortunately a couple of dim-witted Wollongong fans cant see the difference and are trying to make it an issue.

^^^ + 1 That's the game or don't get in the road of a freight train. Should of put his arms across his chest to protect himself instead of arms up.

Does this mean that Delaney might get on the court surly not.

Yeah I think Delaney is a natural replacement at that position while Davidson is out.

Dunkin' Dan....I too think Delaney is Davidson's natural replacement, neither can dribble past the half way line.

If only it had been Delaney defending Dunigan on that play then no one would have got hurt

Hawkeye.....from your suggestion that Dunigan be reported, I can surmise the following :

1) You have never played Basketball without a PlayStation Controller.

2) If the above is false, and you have played Basketball :

2a) You have have never got close enough to the hoop to attempt a layup.

2b) You attempt lay ups by jumping superman style.

2c) You play WheelChair Basketball. (I apologise to all Wheelchair Ballaz out there for this insult).

Clarke would actually think Delaney could fill the void, thats how bad things are in Adelaide! Hope its a quick recovery, really like those Hawks, will forever be the under dog and most people second fav team behind there own!

Don't know why Delaney would want to replace Davidson anyway....theres way more money and fun working with Peter Jackson @ The Shire.

Delaney has made Mcleod's shortlist of possible replacements

I assumed Delaney was Robbins' replacement. Might not be an angry ant, but he's at least got the "ant" bit covered. (Sorry Zac!)

Marcus Camby --

Wrong on most counts but I won't go there.

It just looked like it was intentionally raised as he saw the contact coming, think I saw him do other lay ups with out it up and into the player?

Things like this happen I know, it just how it looked to me.

Yes Davidson put his body on the line and paid the price.

He didn't do any other fastbreak lay ups in the game so not sure what you're comparing it to.

Hawkeye...we agree on something....please don't go there.

Yes it was intentionally raised....the give power to the take off.

I see.....he did other layups without the knee so that one must be intentional.

If only I could get you to show me how you do layups if you were in Dunigan's position.

I still suspect the answer includes a Wheelchair....again apologies to any disabled ballers out there.
