William McDowell White?

Appears to be a bit of a gun for a 15 year old Aussie. Can someone give me some more info about him. Is he a point or shooting guard? Is he of foreign decent? Or is he aboriginal? Just curious because he looks slightly dark skinned

He is a gun!
Has a scholarship with the Bris Lions due to father/son rule
Can play 1 or 2
6ft 2 maybe - athletic, quick but looks like everything comes easy to him
Will be the best player at the U16 nats next year - is already in the U17 Aust team

Will he be better than Kyle Clark? What is his heritage? Is he from a foreign background or aboriginal?

He is a year younger than Kyle and is performing better at this tournament (scoring 20 pts in 20 mins) but as for the future it will depend on if he chooses AFL over basketball.

Great athlete and a quiet kid who is well respected by his fellow peers. Can make a good go at hoops or AFL if he desires!

To the collective Anonymous posters on this thread:

Daryl is older - 14.1.1997
William - 13.4.1998

Their dad was a talented footballer:

Aboriginal heritage, father Daryl White was a triple premiership player in the AFL with the Brisbane Lions 2001 - 2003. AFL career spanned 13 years --- 1992 - 1996 with the Brisbane Bears then following the merger with Fitzroy, 1997 - 2005 with the Lions, 268 career games and 165 goals.

Part Wikipedia listing :

"Despite initial reluctance to move to the Bears—a club which, in White's words, "only won two games a year",[1] the future football star was persuaded to give the club a chance (turning up to his first training session in a purple LA Lakers singlet and bouncing a basketball). He found the transition from Alice Springs football to training under strict disciplinarian Walls difficult once there, for example; on one occasion during an 8 km cycle up a mountain he hurled his bike off a cliff, telling his coach he'd come to play football, not ride bikes.[2][3]

His first season of football was an announcement of a rare talent, leading the Brownlow Medal count after three rounds with two best-on-ground performances and kicking the official goal of the year with his first-ever goal."

Remember Daryl had quite a distinctive loping sort of stride and great skill, very enjoyable to watch like so many of our indigeneous footballers.

So yeah, guess the kids have got a reasonable sporting pedigree.

Will goes to anglican church grammar school in brisbane, he plays in the open basketball team there and was voted mvp. he played in the under 17 australian team and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds in one game, he prefers the 1 or 2 but can play the forward positions swell as he is also a great defensive player. he is primarily a scorer and his OLDER BROTHER Darryl is also a very good player. as a friend of wills i know he wants to play basketball in the NBA and has already been offered two spots in schools in america to play ball. will is only 14 and is already dominating GPS school basketball and even state and national basketball. he is also of aboriginal heritage.

Actually Will is the youngest. He is a very smooth player who can play a 3 but likes to rotate in the guards. If you don't believe that he is the youngest search it up!

Also watched the brothers play on the weekend in the finals of the QLD state Championships. See BQ website for results, they play on a gun team that was streets ahead of the opposition.

Will White is just built for basketball, silky smooth, athletic, about 6'4 now. Would love to see him start playing at SEABL level now too toughen him up. Appears arrogant but he is a shy quiet kid.

Daryl is dynamic, lightning fast, great passer but he is an inconsistent shooter who has too many bad shooting days. If he was happy to be a pure point Guard he can play at any level.

McDowell is Mums surname.
