Well Graham Longstaff has come out in the paper paying out the Knox Executive over how they are handling the SEABL Men's position.

Any decent organistaion should advertise and appoint the best coach available. having the job for the last 7 years may not make you the best coach avaialable.
Longie chose not to apply. I dont know why he's confused. it shouldn't be jobs for the boys / girls. i also note that biwer was appointed to the Spectres job and may not have even applied as well.

It really is a disgusting way to treat your coaches to be honest.

A coach has a job, its his job, they normally put in far more time and effort than they get remunerated for, as a committee you either want the coach to stay on or you don't, pretty simple.

If you don't want them to stay them by all means advertise the job but FFS have the balls to tell a coach his time is up before advertising HIS role.

Also clubs need to stop advertising jobs that aren't really legitimately up for grabs and stop wasting peoples time.

Many coaches have the attitude its their job. They have a contract and at the start of the contract they should all be told at the expiration of your contract we will advertise. You may be appointed. You may not be the best applicant and you may not be automatically re appointed just cos you think you should be.

Disgusting way to treat your coach?!

His contract was up so in no way is it "HIS job". It is a business. As is the same in any business - when a contract runs out the position should be advertised. If he wanted the gig he should have applied for it. People around Knox are excited for a new beginning with the SEABL team, and the players are re-energised. For many, he is the only Senior coach they have really played for they are pumped for a new challenge.

Some are also disappointed he wont be coaching. Noone around Knox, or around the Country, can say Graham can't coach. His record speaks for itsself. Looks like it was just time for a change!

What is disgusting is how he is behaving as an employee of Knox Basketball. How unprofessional. Wonder how long his gig will stand out at Boronia now?!

Its called communication, no coach should be surprised, either re-appoint them and move into a new contract or tell them thankyou but your time is done and advertise their position. But don't advertise the position and tell them they have to reapply for their job (when we all know they wont get it), that's just gutless management.

If they appoint joey wright as coach that just adds another cancer to to Knox.just look what has happened over the last 12 months the SBC has become more important than the clubs who have held club together for years.plus when are they going to make it public that the chairman resigned 2 months ago.
