coach/players coaching same age group OK or not?
Is it considered OK for a junior player in a div 1 team to coach a lower div team in the same age group?

Depends if u10s it would be interesting but say 23s no prob
If the player/coach was a state player + had outstanding game play maybe then, but if credentials are doggy then hell no-no way not ever.

Player/coaches in amateur ball rarely work. It always ends up with the player/coach starting themselves over clearly superior players, IMHO...

I don't think it has anything to do with whether they are a state player or not. Skill on the court has little to do with coaching ability. If anything a state player wouldnt have time to coach a team effectively...

Mick, they're not talking about player-coaching, but playing say U16 Div 1 and coaching U16 Div 3.
If the coach is helping the players in the other team why not ?
If coach is playing higher standard they should be able to pass on what they have learnt.

I think there would be a legal issue here.
As a minor, the coach could not assume duty of care for her team, which would then question liability in the case of an accident/incident.
Has she done official coaches accreditation. As a minor she cannot be a mandatory reporter for abuse either.
Dont think it's quite right.
Wow i had no idea about the legal issues,a real eye opener, thanks teacher.
