Darren ng tribute

We may not see the lad at pro level again, just wanted to pay my respects towards him.

Whats your fave memory of him?

Mine is recent when he knocked down all those abl long bombs.

He copped a bit of slack but one of my favourite sixer of all time. Love he's game and respected him for what he does outside of basketball.
My ng heritage jersey is possibly the one I like to wear the most.

I liked Darren a lot. I would hate to see him fade into the distance . . . . .

Darren Ng is a top bloke off the court. Very polite, friendly and humble.

Definitely a favourite 36er of mine.

I don't think you could point out someone else who juggled a medical/doctor career and professional basketball.

Here we go again if you haven't got anything nice to say STFU.

I played in that Warriors game. He had around 24 at the half and only 6 in the 3rd I think. Phil Haines who was calling the game leans in and says to me "He cooled off a bit this quater". Darren then goes off for 20 or so in the last.

Great game & great guy.

Is there a reason why he wont be with the Sixers next season? Is it a case of he doesn't want to play next season or a case of he isn't required by the coaches?

I think Ng would be a better fit then Pero as we already have Schenscher, DJ and Peitre. Having a 3 point specialist or someone that could knock down free throws is the final piece to the puzzle I think. Perhaps it came down to the points system or money.

I remember that Flames game too, one of the first ABL games I saw. I remember quite distinctly his first basket that night was a deep 2 fadeaway at the top of the 3 point line with a hand in his face. Nothing but net. We knew it was gonna be a long night after that. Great game to witness.

KingJames

Darren became a father in July and his work career is booming. He wishes to focus on this.

I also secretly reckon he dislikes the coach and doesn't want to play under him.

Ng was a favourite of mine and when he was hot no sweeter shooter .
Cannot understand why NG would not like Clarke just because he played Weigh every minute that could not hit side of barn.
Of course when did get on and was hot then suddenly found back on bench .
then all those close games we lost where was our best shooter .
Yep you guessed it -- getting splinters again.

hmmmm in close games do shooters win it or does defence and forcing turnovers win it. What is the point of shooting if your diect opponent simply goes back and scores on you.

If you can't play D then I don't think you can play basketball, or in fact, any sport!!

Best ABL player I've played against. Had an NBL career most could only dream of, the fact he was able to complete a medical degree, start a family and more importantly be a top guy should put all the haters on this forum to bed!

Classy gentleman on and off the court. And boy can he play.

In Saturday's ABA GF he was the player that we Eagles fans didn't want to get the ball anywhere outside the three point line.

Respect!

Is he a GP? If so I may go and see him about my haemorrhoids as he doesn't seem like the judgemental type.
