Ben Simmons and David Patrick

Is there a connection between them? I have heard that David is Ben's Godfather. Is that correct? I do see that Ben's father played for a short time with Patrick.

Any info is appreciated.

I had just heard that LSU was the favorite because Patrick was his Godfather, so I was trying to verify if that was true. Is it?
