SEABL Head Coaching Movements.

Ok, the regular season is done, so which clubs will be looking for new coaches??
Obviously Bendigo Women and Brisbane men, but who else? The most obvious first, Will Kilsyth look for a new mens coach to get some fresh ideas? What about Frankston? Is it time for change?

Any asst coaches or Big V coaches ready to step up? I'd be making a call to Estcourt if I was looking for a coach with good history

Mail is that the club was looking at options to replace him mid season. If he is kept on, he will lose 3/4s of the team like the year before.

Not sure why you'd replace a coach who's clearly doing better this season compared to last after recruiting well and cleaning out some issues, will probably go well into the playoffs, holds a board position in the club and is still comfortably under contract.
OAMAT, jealousy or sour grapes maybe?

If we are talking Bendigo, the assistant is the brains behind the program. If he stays i cant see why they would replace Harvey.

No jealousy or sour grapes, just repeating what I've heard from people inside that club. I guess we will just have to keep an eye on what goes on in the coming months.

Ah, Ok then, well id say its just allot of hot air and BS coming from people who have no real idea. Most clubs have people like this in them!

A few clubs might look at alternatives as they haven't really pushed further up thr ladder in recent times, i guess the only thing is there alternatives ready to step up.

Frankston, Bendigo, Kilsyth, NWT, Brisbane etc

Kilsyth Men would be a real possibility, no real progress in 4 years.
The only problem is the internal management structure at Kilsyth, much the same as Frankston, its pretty hard to sack yourself unless you've had enough.

I have also heard from reliable sources within the club that Harvey could well be ousted from the Spectres at seasons end. It is either that or face the prospect of a mass exodus.

Harvey is gone. No player support and squads has under performed for years.

Launceston coach has stepped down.

NW Thunder will be interesting as they have bookended the season with runs of L's.

Sandringham could be advertising their men's head coach job as well.

It doesn't matter that Harvey is on the Spectres board as they don't run the senior team. The MEBA do and they want him gone!

Hope its true aboout Harvey - Thinks he's
"Gods Gift" of a coach. He's been a joke ever since he used to poach all the girls in his state teams to Nunawading, win everything and then claim what a great coach he was. LOL

Thankyou to everyone who hijacked this topic with mindless childish ramblings.. Not sure why there's all the fuss over the Nunawading womens position, they appear to be having a good season and its already been announced that he's coaching in 2013. Now back to the topic please without your petty in fighting.

So much for the inside goss. Mostly all wrong if SEABL is right.
Cobras have underperformed for a few years now. Frankston definitely need a change but as has already been said are these 2 GM's going tosack themselves?
Thunder might nearly be broke again and Thomas' coaching style comes from the 70's.
Will they even be around next season.?
Ballarat have done extremely well in the last few weeks without Scoines or another import.
Bendigo Men have done Ok and with the loss of one import have done Ok all things considered.
Canbera, who knows. Albury are in the Finals for the first time in a decade? and not everyone is happy with the Head Coach there.
Brissie Men we know about already. Hobart, Stewart is still under contract and despite an 0-5? start they snuck into the finals.
Mt gambier have player well and Hill has just started there and despite import issues there have played well and troubled many with a limited selection of players.

SEABL, where has it been announced that J. Harvey will coach again in 2013? There's been no release on the Nunawading site or SEABL site.

Spoke to someone in the know at Knox who hinted strongly at Longstaff retiring (or being asked to) at season's end. Take it for what you will.

Who would replace?

Long staff will not be asked to retire, the job will be advertised and longstaff whilst was looking at retirement may have been re energized by some of the youth in the squad this year

Will Canberra be in the league? They aren't particularly competitive and haven't been for a few seasons.

Clearly they haven't got the $ to go with imported players and the local product is down at the moment. Coaching stocks are also probably a bit thin. Might be better served playing in the Waratah League?

Canberra have always chosen generally to not go with imports for a very long time. They did have an import who I beleive played for nothing this season. he didnt arrive until well into the season.

Frankston have advertised their Men's head coach position but there's been no mention of a Runchey retirement so id say its a complete waste of time anyone applying for it.
Not sure why clubs bother doing this and wasting everyone's time.
