Really? It never has been before. Great tournament for what it is (a Xmas piss-up) and some great players turn up, but nowhere near ABL standard overall.

Well I wouldn't reccomend going Div 1 Men's unless you have a few ABL players on your roster. Going by last years comp there were atleast 3 or 4 teams with mainly ABL players/ex ABL.

The team we put in A grade last year were all current ABL players.

B and C is div 2 to div 4 standard. D grade is everything else.

What about the womens comp? Do ABL teams use it as a pre-season carnival or is it more social teams?

St.Clair Carnival

The St.Clair X-Mas Carnival is run for both Junior & Senior teams & this years carnival is the 36th year and it will run over the weekend of 14th, 15th & 16th December 2012.

Junior teams consists of players from div 2 - 5.
If div 1 teams want to enter they usually enter in the older age group.

Senior teams - Mens A have teams with current & ex ABL players involved, the last couple of years the SA Country have also nominated teams in this grade.
Mens B usually div 2 - 3 standard.
Mens C usually div 3 - 4 standard.
Mens D usually Social teams.

Womens teams have consisted of current & ex ABL players & SA Country but this will usually depend on nominations year by year.
We would like to be able to provide for 2 grades one more experience and one for social teams.

We also have a mixed grade which mostly runs at a div 3 - 4 standard of teams.

If you are interested in details please email [email protected] and we will send through a nomination pack for this years carnival.
