A big body that can sit on the bench. Every team has them.
(Philly fan).

He's a great example of how important (and underrated) hands are to a basketball player. Huge but has tiny hands, so he's useless on O.
Can fill the middle on D, but he's still slightly over paid.
Always felt a bit sorry for Kwame Brown. Sure never should've been the #1 pick by Jordan but plenty of worse big men in the NBA than him, still he'll always be a punchline which is a shame.

His a very low cost insurance policy for the 76ers if there big men all obtain injury this would be the man that would take the role, his a terrible player there are far worse players than kwame

I read in a book on Michael Jordan's time with the Wizards that Jordan and the Wizard staff watched Brown play one on one with Tyson Chandler and he absolutely destroyed Chandler. They were so impressed with that workout they drafted him number one and the rest is history.
Joe Dumars has come out recently and suggested that the drafting of Darko milicic changed everything how teams draft players and the process of drafting a player is done now with a lot more research and they now interview anyone and everyone who has dealt with a potential player.

in all seriousness he's there to provide a big body down low who can play some defense, as he's actually quite a good defender for anybody that takes an unbiased look at him. Philly probably got him for a reasonable price too, not overly expensive, espcially for someone with size and defense.
Clearly going to be a liability of offence, but they'll manage around that.

Kwame is seen by most fans as a joke. And as a #1 overall pick, he is certainly a joke. But as an average, relatively cheap, run of the mill, backup center whose there to rebound, play some d and set some picks - he's as adequate as most others who fill that role in the league.
If he was never the #1 overall pick, hardly anyone would notice this signing to question it.
