Australia v Croatia - U17 Semi Final

It's on, you can watch it on FIBA TV and there could be some other streams around.

1/4 time it is 24-21 to Croatia. Aussies had a fast start hitting 5/7 threes but the Croats have pegged them back.

Fun game to watch with similar styles. Exum had a sweet driving reverse dunk in the half court!

After going 23-31 down the Aussies peeled off a 19-4 run to finish the half 42-35 up.

PG Mirko Djeric, who had hit 12/37 3p for the tournament hit his first six tonight! Team is 10/22 for the half.

Only thing keeping Croatia in it is 'Super' Mario Hezonja with 15p in a pretty impressive display.

66-51 at 3/4 time, they are in control and have Croatia out of their offence with their aggressive D. Great sign they can do this with Simmons and Exum only combining for 11 points thus far.

The Croats charged in the last quarter, coming from (I think) 17-odd down to close to nine and then seven, but on each occasion Exum answered with some tough buckets.

The Emus had fallen into the old shuffle trap of passing around the perimeter and jack a three, but Exum took it on himself to get to the hole when things looked dangerous.

He had 10 for the quarter to finish with 18 on 7/16 (0/4 3p)
Djeric was superb with 21 on 7/12 (7/11 3p), 7a, 3s and 2to.
Jack Purchase had 12p on 4/7 3p.

Most of the guys made a contribution in what was a fantastic win against an undefeated opponent. Now for a miracle against the US, who trailed Spain at 1/4 time, led by just four at 1/2 but ended up winning by plenty.

Not a miracle.

We only lost by 20 in the group game against the US (first game of tourny) and were only down 6 at the half.

A change of strategy from Molloy and co. US deserve to be favs, but we have only lost the 1 game and if Ben and Dante hit their straps, who knows.

Go for gold boys!!!

If there is anyone who has ever bagged Guy Molloy on here as a crap coach can now eat their words. He is the best young men coach in the country. This result proves it. Ian Stacker and Marty Clarke WHO?

Congrats to Guy and the boys, not sure why you feel the need to bag Stacker and Clarke though? Pretty sure Stacker won our 1st ever young mens gold medal and Exam and Djeric have been under him at the AIS the past 2 years. Why not celebrate Guys achievements rather than bagging others!

Nice job boys! Game is on tomorrow. Still awaiting replay of match on Fibatv but they are a bit slow to put it up. Aus kept it close vs USA (last time they played) until the 3rd quarter. If they can play 4 strong quarters and tough D should be a great game.
