Lost it in the third. Dante Exum having a shocking day from the free throw line. 5/12 is not good enough at the International level for a guard.

We lost game 1 to USA 67-89 in the end but pushed them for quite some time. The 3rd quarter hur us badly - outscored 14-36...room for improvement, but need to win the remaining pool gamesnow to put ourselves in the best position.

Exum 17pts
Duncan 9pts, 13reb
Djeric 8 pts, 6 ass

Shooting 6/24 from 3PT line also didn't help much either...

beter rebound count this time around, 37-47 and we were virtually breakeven this time on the O boards 15-16.

Australia smashed China 92-55 in their second WC game. A 30-10 opening quarter did most of the damage!

Exum led all scorers with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

Luxford had 13 points on 5/6 shooting.

Purchase had 10 points and 4 rebounds.

Simmons had 10 points and 7 rebounds.

We next play Czech Republic who got smashed by the USA 57-95 last night, but upset France in their first game.

1 from 17 from behind the arc at the moment

The Aussie kids gonna need to start hitting from outside if they wanna progress further in the tournament after the qualifying stage

But one positive for this game is that we are killing them in the paint...

Australia won 63-58.

Simmons was a beast, leading all scorers with 26 points on 12/15 shooting alongside 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals and 1 block.

Djeric 8 points, 9 assists and 2 steals.

Exum had 10 points but on 2/12 shooting and 6/9 from the line but an amazing 8 fouls drawn! Maybe the Cezech tried to bump him out of the game hence the shooting percentages?

A win is a win...In the first game of the day, China upset France who also lost to the Czechs in their first game...

We next play Egypt who have yet to win a game.

One thing that is outstanding is the way the boys def has progressed from the trip to China to now. I know the coaches worked extremley hard on that as they could not defend the international players as footspeed was an issue.

It sounds odd but all but a 5 minute patch against the USA and we had them at their lowest score as a team and had out rebounded them.

They smash the Asian Champions with a stack of $$$ thrown at that program and keep them to 55 and now the silver medalists in the European titles to 58.

Ben was awesome tonight and Mirko and Dante not shooting the ball well at all but great effort overall from the coaches and players to be 2-1 leading into the break.

Stay behind them fellas, they even had the USA zone them at one point so that is what they will get for the rest of the week as the offense is getting us great looks and to the stripe.

Go Boys

Tied 70 between Australia and the worst team in group A Egypt(who hasnt won a game yet) heading into double overtime now.

The kids won't get past the quarters if they don't start shooting better

The same Egyption team led the USA at some point. They shot the lights out and we did not, but again as shown before they can pull out a win and not throw it in. Coaches will be concerned but we now finish 2nd in our pool, regardless of tomorrow's result.

Again, hang in there with them, Coach Molloy gets another group of kids to get wins against good opposition on a world stage

It's not about how you win in international basketball, its just about winning and getting a good matchup in the next round. Big game against France tomorrow.
