According to an online article by Rucci in the Advertiser, Neeld was advised by Trigg to respond to Melbourne within their 24 hour deadline. Wasn't even in the top 3 and Sanderson was the top choice at the time but not confirmed due to a Sunday final interview with Scott Burns in Perth.
