Great signing! Steindl was always going to end up with a QLD team...
Is he that good? I heard/read that he was not much more than a 3 point shooter?

A deadly spot up shooter swingman. Can hold his own defensively.

Just need a legit C and we're sorted, assuming both Gliddon and Steindl are as good as advertised. Clean some of the dead wood from the bench and we're good to go

Still one import slot open...any chance Jerai Grant is considered or is he Europe bound? Defensively oriented enough for Fearne or a liability with Trigger manning the 4? Maybe Wilkinson?

Good signings, but it does remain to be seen whether Steindl and Gliddon are ready to make a decent impact or if they need some time to adjust to the pro game.
Certainly both need to bulk up to thrive in the NBL, but at the very least they should provide spot up shooting to spread the floor for Tragardh and Wilson, and Fearne will have them doing the right things defensively.
steindl is good at watching guys drive by him. he can shoot it really well.
Wasted roster spot. Disappointed as a taipans fan. However we have signed worse
Positives are shooting and athleticism.
Negatives are defense, rebounding and dribbling.
Three year signing was risky but hopefully it works out for Cairns!

Great decision maker just don't let him take the inbound pass!!

Wonder if anyone is going to write Fearne's mob off again lol. Looking forward to seeing how this team pans out.

Interesting signing along with Gliddon they are both lacking strengh to play at NBL level.
If they both don't bulk up it'll be straight back to QBL in a hurry so i'm guessing Fearne will have them in the weight room for the first year of there deals!

I think Steindl will surprise people. He's a great shooter, but without a shooter's mentality. Good team player.

Who's next for the Sixers Tiger Watcher or when can we likely expect the next announcement to be made?

Got no more info re sixers signings at the moment...they are hand in the FA market making solid plays for a number of people which is great to see.

If you didn't sign players because of a lack of strength, you'd rarely sign anyone coming out of college. Strength can be gained easily if players are dedicated. Given they have a lot more time on their hands when they become pro's, they should be able to dedicate sufficient time to their strength training.

This is a good signing. I mean if Darren Ng can get a game come one!
The guy can guard the three quite well and is a good defender.
Just don't expect much offense beyond shooting.

Southern media might not write off Cairns this year because they signed Trigger.
Still, wouldn't be surprised to see the majority of people predicting Townsville & Cairns for a bottom two finish, as usual. And yes, both teams will finish in the top four or five, as usual.

Guys, the NBA and College systems are all about maing players fill roles. One of the positive comments imports make about the NBL is that they have so much more freedom of action.
Just because Clint didn't do something at St Mary's doesn't mean that he can't. Maybe he didn't drive much cos there were others to do it better. Maybe his role was to shoot threes to give guys like Holt more gaps to drive into.

^ what hoopie said
Abercrombie warmed the bench at college and look at how good he has got playing NBL, no reason this kid can't be great

It took Clint until his last 10 or so games to really repay the faith imo. He teased Saint Mary's fans for a long time coming up with good games sporadically. From an offensive point of view (defensively he was always consitent) he was quite one dimensional in what he could offer. He did however improve his freethrow significantly in his senior year so hopefully he drives a lot more.
