Interested to see an email from BSA urgently requesting referees for the state champs, just over two weeks from the event.

After months of planning by clubs for the premier event on the Basketball SA calendar it seems we will once again be victims of Basketball SA's poor time management and lack of interest.

Clubs both on court and off it spend a lot of time and effort and for what? I can only imagine the quality of referees, ref supervisors and umpire in charges that will be around given the lack of notice.

How about some respect for the clubs, coaches and teams that spend up to six months planning for this weekend?

the vic refs are a good move - call the game a bit differently - but it is what we need.

anon - i reckon fville will take out girls reserve.

they will win u12 GR, u14GR, 1st or 2nd in u16GR and 2nd or 3rd u18GR.

leaving sturt 2nd u12GR, 4th u14GR, 1st or 2nd u16GR and 1st u18GR

Boys State will be interesting as it is wide open IMO. Likely final points rankings:

Forestville
Sturt
Southern
Norwood
Woodville
North
Mavs
South
West
Centrals

Expecting plenty of Sturt-Forestville finals.

Boys Reserve wide open too IMO. Likely final points rankings:

Sturt
Norwood
Forestville
Southern
South
North
Centrals
West
Woodville
Mavs

Forestville might get Sturt in Div 1, but Forestville much weaker in Div 2 so Sturt have no excuse not to take out Boys club flag and will sneak ahead of Forestville. Southern and Norwood rounding out the podium.

The girls is much more predictable. Girls State likely final points rankings:

Forestville
Mavs
Sturt
North
West
Southern
Norwood
Centrals
South
Woodville

Girls Reserve likely final points rankings:

Forestville
Sturt
Woodville
Norwood
North
Mavs
Southern
West
Centrals
South

Forestville to take out the girls.

The strength of the Mavs in the Div 1 girls might deny Sturt points and could be just enough to give Forestville the overall Club Award.

Jack, not quite how it works. There's just boys champ, boys reserve, girls champ, girls reserve, overall champ, overall reserve.

Looks like it is Forestvilles to lose.

anon jack is pretty well on the money with his predictions.

there is usually one upset result in one state grade somewhere.

forestville to win overall - sabres look nowhere near as strong this year as previous - other clubs going for 3rd / 4th - will be very close and probably the closest for many years.

if western win u14GR - may sneak sabres in res Gs - F'ville stronger this year in a couple of state boys grades - coupled with winner the state Gs = they should get enough to win overall.
