Millicent ABA Challenge

Centrals, Forestville, Mt Gambier & Geelong played some practice games in Millicent over the weekend. Just wondering what people thoughts were on how the teams are looking this season?

FWIW, I was impressed with Forestville, especially with Tucker back in the fold. Sully had poor weekend but think they will be good again. Mount Gambier looked good, definately have imports you would pay to see. Were they missing anyone? Centrals have a good import but will otherwise struggle and Geelong looked pretty ordinary but having said that their 2 imports werent there.

Anno 351288 - You are a fool.

Eagle - Geelong looked ordinary beating Forrestville and Central? That does not say much for them then...

The Eagles had a poor weekend but will be back in the thick of it again this season when they get their full squad together (think Motts is playing again, Gerlach only played 1 game, no Deng, no Wernham)

Sully had poor game against the Mount but had around 25 @ 50% against Geelong.

Mt gambier missing smith and Jeffries , beat eagles by 8 and lions by 12, centrals holding geelong and mt gambier in the low 70s, eagles also dropping both games by not much.

Mt Gambier missing two starters? Smith isn't a starter and it will be hard to see the aging Jeffree starting over Sutton-Burdon-McAllister-Warbout-Davis...

McAllister looks to be a Stud! He may get the Pioneers back into the playoffs!

Pretty sure Forrestville will be tough to beat again, didn't have anywhere near a full squad and only just lost to Mt Gambier.

As for Geelong, they rotated their group pretty heavily in all games and yes, yet to add imports. Still think it will be a challenge to stay at the top without Herbert though.

Long and athletic shot blocker. Got a tonne of rebounds and a few monster dunks as well.

Does he have an offensive game or picks up the garbage.

He didn't get many post touches so tough to tell. Will most likely just score off offensive boards and dump offs.

Davis may not average over 10 points but he could easily be over 12 rebounds and 3 blocks per game.

McAllister, Burdon, Warbout, Jeffree supported by Sutton, Davis, Smith, Russell. Scoring shouldn't be a problem!

if warbout is going to be mt gambiers starting 4 man then they are in massive trouble!

Why? What's wrong with Warbout?

Smith will definitely benefit from the presence of Davis, as well as adding quite a bit of bulk to his frame over the off-season.

Will be able to get a better indication once he has had his first competitive hit-out.

Also, from what I saw, Warbout looked pretty solid - his shooting was better than I expected.

McAllister is a gun. Most imports look average at the Millicent tournament due to being new to the team but he looks very good. Not sure about Davis i think he will struggle to guard the guys like Lester Strong. I hope im wrong. Add D Jeffree to the team from the weekend and i think they will be very competetive. It was also nice to watch them play and not have the coach trying to run every play from the bench and carrying on like a muppet.
