U/20 nationals less than 1 week away!

Who are the favorites to win?
I'm thinking:
Men's
1. NSW
2. Vic
3. SA
4. TAS

Women's
1. Vic
2. NSW
3. QLD
4. SA

Good to see that someone thinks that the Tasmanians will finally do well. I don't agree with this though because the could not even win a men's pre-season tornement in Tasmania.

I would put sa above both nsw and qld in women's, we have a bit of talent in our team.

Who are the standouts to look out for in the men's?

For Tasmania the standout will definitely be Ben Richmond. He is a very good shooter and currently at the AIS!

In the women coaching for SA will be an issue, Brenton is just emulating Prichard without the knowledge, talent, or ability. SA will not win this tournament and coaching will be rightly blamed.

What a crock.
The vics have 7 players that have played for Australia and 5 at the AIS. They are certainly the favourites.

Coach will do the best for these girls, who have been working hard for 3 months. Don't slag off a team before a ball is bounced.

On the mens side of the draw, SA Vs Vic first up game of the tournament should be one of the match ups for the week. How have the teams been going in their practice games. Any work on the other states.

How relevant do people think the U20's is as a national competition?

Bottom age kids at this tournament are 2013 Emus, so in the scheme of things it is extremely relevant.

Performance (good or bad) at a tournament like this can assist the fortunes of players. A week after this tournament there is an Emus camp. The team selected from that camp will go to the Albert Schweitzer tournament in Mannheim, Germany.
