Warriors Hall Of Fame
The Woodville District Basketball Club began in March 1980, as the club moves into its 4th decade it has become time to revisit the history, the achievements of the past ,the players, the characters and personalities, the successes and the battles the club has won and lost. Warrior Pride is alive and well, as a club we are proud of our beginnings, positive of our future and keen to contribute to the growth of Basketball in the Western Suburbs and within the context of Basketball SA
The Woodville Warriors District Basketball Club is very proud to announce that establishment of the "Warriors Hall of Fame." It is with great pleasure the the first recipients are announced.
Long Serving Coach and Administrator Lynne Holland and Long Serving Player including 2000 ABA Championship Captain Scott Whitmore. The club is indebited to the outstanding contribution both these former Warriors provided the club. It should be recognised that Vera Craig the club's legendary Secretary from 1982 till 2004 was asked to construct her "All Star” Woodville team just prior to her death, she had Lynne in the coaching panel and this combined with her service as a Club Administrator leaves no doubt as to Lynne being a fitting recipient. Scott was regarded by Vera as one of the most committed and influential players in the clubs history - an inspirational leader.
The WDBC will present these legends of the club at the Sixers game on 3rd March at the Adelaide Arena. All members, players, their families, former Warriors and supporters of basketball are invited to attend on March 3rd.
