Herbert to rest this off-season

In a major blow to the team on the eve of the SEABL season, Herbert told the club he's planning on heading overseas for a lengthy holiday with wife Sally once his commitments with NBL side Adelaide finishes.

The 27-year-old two-time Supercats' MVP winner had been mulling over this decision for a few months before deciding to give his body a break after virtually playing basketball non-stop for six years in the NBL and SEABL.

Makes sense if he wants to continue playing for Adelaide he needs to do all he can to help himself.

massive loss for the supercats.
They will have a very tough year.... unknown/proven imports, old list of role players at best and their young kids who are not at the seabl level.
Finals would be a shock now.

Didn't he have a lengthy rest overcoming injury?

I would have thought the best thing for Herbert would be play the NBL off season and try and recapture some of the form and grit he had pre-injury?
