have the big east, big 10 or acc changed the number of teams in their comp - or have some transferred ?

There are loads of changes across many conferences of division 1 basketball, and they are pretty much all being driven by college football's big $$$.
If you can get access to ESPN Insider, Jay Bilas has written a pretty good summary of all the changes and goes into a bit more depth across all of the college conferences that have or will experience change.
Syracuse and Pittsburgh are two well known teams moving to the ACC as an example.

I honestly have no idea about women's D1 basketball as I do not follow it. Apart from noting that UConn has dominated in recent years.

womens confrences - the ones that have uconn, tennessee, stanford, duke.
baylor are on the up this season with griner and notre dame are breaking records.
Duke - ACC
uconn- big east
tennessee - south eastern
stanford - pac 12
most of the big programmes have good men and womens teams

Thanks guys..just found a site that ranks all colleges and worked some sort of rankings out.I appreciate the answers.Through my limited basketball experience it amazes me how many players are in the college system and receive no recognition and no one seems to rate them unless they went to the AIS first(and we all know that systems selection policy certainly has it downfalls)
