Shane Heal bankrupt

GOLD Coast businessman and basketball legend Shane Heal has filed for bankruptcy, citing the collapse of franchising group Allied Brands a year ago as the reason for his financial fall.

Mr Heal, whose has built a significant portfolio of food franchises over the past seven years, has been burdened with a worthless 10-year contract - once valued $6 million - through which Allied Brands sought him to develop the Baskin Robbins brand in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

Exactly right KingJames. Bankruptcy does not exactly mean he will be living in a Housing Trust house (or whatever the Qld version is) eating baked beans out of a can, with a rusted out '77 Kingswood on blocks in the drive. He will still have more assets than most of us here.

certain implications with running a business again but theres ways around it. poor family and for a guy with a fairly healthy ego cant be fun having this all in the public domain especially just before christmas.

Lots of blog information on the real reasons behind Heal's bankruptcy. Looks like this guy doesn't exactly have "clean hands", if you get my drift.

And pretty sneaky shoving this press release out the day before Chrissy, like we wouldn't all notice. That along puts this high on the sleaze list.
