Get the right coach, attract the right players, remain relatively injury free, and success beckons. All the best to the girls for the rest of the season.
Buy the right coach, buy the right players, remain injury free and success beckons
WNBL (and not that long ago the NBL) all comes down to who has the biggest budget to spend.
Get/buy pretty much the same thing in this case. There has been plenty of money spent over the years on coaches and players - the trick is to make the right decisions.]

If you weren't 'in' basketball you wouldn't even know that the Lightning are easily sitting on top of the ladder in the WNBL! I reckon the Lightning got more coverage last year for their 'season from hell' efforts. Just goes to show the press coverage difference between the Lightning & Thunderbirds! If the Thunderbirds were sitting 2 games clear in their competition Adelaide would be heavily planning the ticket tape parade for the Thunderbirds. Is Women's Basketball in SA still relevant to people?

It is a great point the state is a cellar dweller in nearly every sport and yet here is a success story and the media don't want to know about it. Do the Lighning promote themselves to the media very well. It seems even sports like hockey seem to inject themselves into the sports pages on a regular basis. Maybe basketball fans themselves don't push the sport enough either. Peoples thoughts on the best way to achieve a profile lift would be interesting.

The owner shows what we might have had , what we let slip away , and maybe , just maybe , what we can still acheive.
Phillips , Borrego , Tippett - very popular with SA sports fans.
