Cairns

Dunno if anybody has noticed, but the taipans have put together a rather menacing looking lineup. With recruitis like Mee and Catalini along with the guys like Stewart, Grabau, Thomas etc from last year and Alan Black at the helm, one feels we may have to look out for them in the finals.

Amazing that a town like Cairns is able to put offers together to players of this calibre and lil old Adelaide has done what?

Dont think Cairns have finished recruiting yet either.

They have a big and quick team with keys players in all spots.

That's assuming we even make the finals. At the moment we have three players. I'm not sure if the NBL will let us start games with only three on the Court...

As far as I know they can't start a game with four players - they would lose one point per minute until (if ever) a fifth player is signed. If this doesn't happen by half time of the first game then the Sixers will forfeit the first game. Who do the Sixers play first game - I might see what odds I can get on them for a 20 - 0 defeat of the Sixers!

Maybe the half time entertainment could be brought forward, and whoever can eat their doughnut the quickest gets to be 5th man!

Hey Rex that might be the by-laws in your local comp but I dont know what happens with national comps, I know there was a big fuss some years ago when a Centrals vs Riverland game was called a forfeit in the ABA or ABL or whatever it was called back then.

I dont think the word forfeit appears in the FIBA rule book.

Isaac, always on the ball. Spoils my sarcasm with spot-on info from the horse's mouth. Four players. We might beat NZ. They only have three...

I think though in recent times every sixer who has played for Cairns has had a stinker of a game first game back at the dome...i remember Mees return (to a standing ovation) he finished with 5 points 3 rebounds and 2 assists, Sappa had a bit of a better game but still not that great.

I say we give cat a 2min standing ovation and hopefully he wont burn us for 30.
