Who will cover Crosswell and Ballinger

Tonight we lost a starting guard
Who steps into the breach and does Tom Daly join the roster full time to cover the loss.
Is Mottram still in town to fill the Ballinger position?
No doubt about it the team needs some bodies in a hurry before Friday night

I think Marty will choose Weigh to cover the shortfall to boost his minutes to 40pg....

Id dump warren and then get Williamson back. Then get someone like mark dickel to cover the point with daly. Too many times simpson was banging and had a great seal only to get overlooked. One time he even had Jackson on his back and weigh jacked up a brick with 12 left on the shot lock. In my opinion everything should run through Simpson or Johnson.

Not really impressed by warren so far he seems to score when the game is over and isn't a penetrator that passes or finished.

Team has had some bad luck so let's hope ballinger is back soon as we need a miracle.

You'd dump Warren, ahhh yeah nah that wont happen. He is a solid Pg, next option.

Totally agree with Ballinger not being there any more.
After seeing us lose yet again on our home court, I suggest we change the name of the team to the Adelaide Faeces.

Weigh played as a guard for a while tonight, so next week he can play centre.

Is Bartlett possible or is he locked as a development player to the Wildcats for the season?

I know when Mills left, McPeake said he was going to be approaching all the top players in europe to see if any are interested in returning given they had 10 pts and mills's cap space, given we now have 2 injuries one being ballinger id put them both on injury waivers and take the same approach, i dont think guys like Newley or Barlow are getting big minutes and with Ballinger and Crosswell on waivers we should be able to offer them 150-250k and have 10pts available to fit them in.

Even if they say no, atleast make the offer.

Imagine how much better a Newley would make the 36ers especially given SG is our weakest spot in our starting 5.

I think Melbourne have the finances to make it happen more than the Sixers, but it cant hurt to ask, that is very true.

Wouldnt impact them at all..they would sit on the bench for 3 months until the learn to change their games to how Clark thinks they can play..at which point they would start to suck, like ever other player who plays for him for to long.

Talking what I think is realistically it wouldn't surprise me to see Creek play more in the 2 spot again now that Cross is out and Daly will probably move into the rotation. As for covering Balls, how long is he out? if its for an extended period will they go for someone or move Jan Warbout up to the rotation also?

Given our position on the ladder with almost half the season gone, and with Clarke's reputation for developing young talent it would hurt short term but it seriously wouldn't surprise me if the 36ers move both Daly and Warbout into the rotation to cover Cross and Balls. It would mean the club's attention isn't focused on finding replacements it will probably mean that Helliwell will get more time, mostly playing PF I think but he needs to get his big arse in there and start putting the ball in the bucket more, grabbing rebounds and blocking shots. Like DJ he is 6'11½" so he should use his height and bulk more like Mark Bradtke and Dean Utoff used to.....and like Helliwell himself used to for the Bullets 19 years ago.

Moving Daly and Warbout into the rotation would hurt short term as they are definitely short on experience but it could help them (and us) in the long term.

I agree with Hendo sign Bartlett he is not a development player with the wildcats, just a training player.

With Luke back for Townsville, does that release Jakob?

Could we get Holmes back? Does he want to come back?

either one of the 3 kiwi guards available would be a useful pickup: dickel, bartlett or tait.
Dickel was good for sydney when he came in last year.

Jake was in for Hinder, Vanderjagt was the Schenscher replacement.

I wouldn't promote Warbout nor load Helliwell up with minutes. Push Creek forward first.

If Warbout is promoted or Helliwell see's more minutes because of this..I want a bloody refund!

Even in a game where Crosswell went down, Creek still only got 10 minutes, even when he clearly looked to be high on energy, rebounding, defence..

Anyone heard any news yet on whether they have diagnosed Ball's foot? All i have heard so far is that last Thurday night he did not sprain it in any way, and there was no swelling. Apparently its been the same foot all along.

Interesting seeing the modern warmup style of the Breakers, with all the bands out on court, mind you NBA teams do it mostly in the rooms but they have bigger rooms. Breakers also did a short cool down on the court as well.

Ballinger indicated at the post game Q&A that he should be good to go soon.

Not 100% sure, but I heard something about it being season-ending for Ballinger? Wait on the official word though.

Breakers have always done an on-court warm-down in Adelaide. I assumed it was usually just to piss off home town fans!

Balls foot is a bit of a mystery,
He was hopping around on one foot after last Thursday nights game,
yet apparently no sprain, no swelling,
had an MRI late last Friday,
had to see a specialist today to show him the results, and possibly with possibly more scans required,

One would normally hear the gos by now what the story is, but this time it has been unusually quiet.

Last night he was talking in quite confident terms that he thought he'd be ok. Hadn't felt as much pain or experienced as much swelling as previous and felt like he'd be ok to get back in a short period of time.

Clearly the latest news suggests he was being rather optimistic at the time.
