Jamar Wilson is NBL POTW
Cairns Taipans import Jamar Wilson has been named the National Basketball League's Player of the Week for Round Seven of the iiNet NBL Championship.Andrew Warren (21 and four across two wins) and Weigh (24 and seven in a home win) are the runners-up.
Wilson led the Taipans to a pair of huge wins as the Snakes defeated the Sydney Kings on the road on Thursday, 85-67, before downing the reigning NBL titleholders New Zealand at home on Sunday in a Grand Final rematch, 80-78.
The American guard averaged 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assist for the round. He made 13 of his 23 field goal attempts for the round (56%), as well as 12 of 16 freethrows (75%).
Wilson scored 18 points and added five assists and two rebounds against the Kings. He then had 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the Taipans’ upset win over New Zealand.
