Everyone acknowledges indigenous contributions to AFL and NRL but they rarely mention basketball so i thought i'd dedicate a thread to some indigenous players currently playing in the league.
Currently in 2011/2012 season:
Patrick Mills
Deba George
Aaron Grabau
Kerry Williams
Michael Cedar
Chris Cedar
Daniel Dillon

I dont think Dillon is. Is Grabau? Still some good talent there though, let's hope the numbers continue to grow.
grabau has clearly got some sort of middle eastern in him, Dillon and George arent aboriginal.

But what I meant was I thought his parents were African-American.
He doesn't look Indigenous, just saying.
I thought Daniel Dillon's father was Tim Dillon, who played in the NBL back in the late 80s i believe, is this actually the case?

I don't know Grabau's ancestral heritage but I do know that 2001 called and asked for its Craig David goatee back.

The Cedar brothers have a PNG/white Australian background. Not sure of any indigenous Australian background.

The cedars were the first indigenous brothers to play in the NBL.
I think basketball is really missing out on a lot of talent by not going after indigenous youth...
former nbl ROY travis lane has the hottest aboriginal woman ever for a girlfriend. is that relevant?
its a disgrace there are so few indigenous players - i suspect many are alienated by the autocratic tendencies of so many coaches at junior level..

Indigenous Australians make up 2% of the total population. I don't know how many players there are overall, but if there are 100 current NBL players, only 2 Indigenous players need to play NBL to be representative of the total population
