Found this googling his name:
An undersized big man who can put the ball on the floor to attack the rim, Simpson isn't an elite athlete, but he is willing to initiate contact, uses his narrow frame well, and has a nice wingspan. Assertive and decisive when attacking the rim, he’s a capable finisher despite lacking a degree of vertical explosiveness. Showing good timing when ducking underneath when his teammates get into the lane, Simpson’s off-ball movement and dribble drives afforded him a number of easy scoring chances today. Though he didn’t appear as active defensively, where he seems content to stay at home and deny penetration, his length and instincts on the glass were apparent. Likely lacking the size and strength to translate his productivity to the NBA level, Simpson is certainly one of the more effective big men in the NBADL.
Bigv ABA club negociations and to train with his mate Patty!

Diamon*
It's suggested in the 36ers vs Perth thread that he will be our new import.
Are St Marys officially a feeder club for the NBL? Every year it seems another from there is signed.
Looks like a defensive option who does the hard stuff. Could be a good fit with DJ.
Looks like we have given up on Williamson. After last night, we probably can't afford to wait.

There was definitely an import player sitting with Ballinger behind the bench

Yes, Williamson was sitting behind the bench. Must be killing him to watch.
This guy is a very average player, he would be ok in the Big V, but a shocking cheap choice for the 36ers, unless he is only here until Williamson is back from injury.
Does anyone no if Williamson has had his surgery? I would wait for him since his still here. He should be 2 weeks into rehab and 6 to go. Balls comes back in 2 weeks and that's a 20ppg improvement. The wildcats are by far the best team in the comp and apart from nz we should be very competitive with every other team waiting for williamson.

If anyone thinks the sixes can compete whilst we wait for ballinger and a second import you are kidding yourselves .... There was no system, no d and def no heart last night !!! Last night showed why Melbourne let helliwell go and it shows Clarke that he now needs a scoring 2 man and a legit big as dj gives up when going gets tough, helliwell isn't ups to aba standard let alone nbl And Herbert, ng and cross well are just average nbl players at best !!!!

Diamon Simpson brings great length it seems. Draft Express has him at 6'8 with shoes on and a wingspan of 7 foot.
In college averaged about 13ppg, close to 2bpg and 8rpg but in his last season was close to 11rpg.
Most recently in the D league in 30 games he averaged 15.5ppg and 10rpg.

Watched him a lot in college. Elite rebounder. Pretty good pick up for the sixers.
Saw Simpson recently in the states.looks in very shape and I think he would do a great job at any team. I have always thought he would be a good fit in the nbl. With the combination of his size and athletisism he should have no problem making ends meat back in aus

Simpson is a very good defensive forward who with his length, is also a good rebounder and shot blocker.

Looking forward to watching some games if Simpson suits up. Was exciting to watch at St Mary's, most rebounds in school history and I think 2nd in WCC conference in blocked shots. He will be a great pickup for any team.

If he is a good rebounder and atacks the rim hard I will be happy. A J would be a bonus :)

I remember watching him play during his St Marys days and he was pretty good. Can't wait to see what he brings to the 36ers.
I think that makes it four former St Marys boys playing in the NBL now.
