Holmes played 30 minutes for 7 points (38%) and 7 rebounds. Looks like he played center as Allen played only 12 minutes but that would have been fine as Cairns aren't that big without Crosswhite. Either way Holmes has got to be happy with the place he has found in the team

Cairns import Andrew Warren played 31 minutes for no points thats got to be some sort of record there. Their other import Wilson got 23. 15 for Hill, 14 for Dowdell and 16 for Rychart

Scrappy game, but shows Jamar is the real deal. Really puts his body on the line. Really noticeable flopping from Crawford too, we let him hear it whenever he went down. Convention Centre was rocking, close (if not) to capacity.

great crowd tonight......good win,but very ABA ish.
both these teams are very lucky they play each other in the first two games of the season.
hopefully they can get there shit together after that.
cairns will need to cut warren very quickly,he doesn't look up to an import spot.
taipans closed the game out from the free throw line.......t/v kept fouling dusty and dusty kept knocking down the free throws.

the crocs defense 'seriously' brokedown a lot and at times was downright embarassing.

Yep. Close game. Defence average on both sides. Taipans will need Crosswhite back for the less depleted teams.

Well done - Wilson, Hill & Rychardt. Hill showed great improvement from pre season games. Rychardt is enjoying his senior role this year; excellent under the basket again. Wilson, jumping out of his skin for the first 20 mins. Looked good once settled.

Warren - no points and will need to show something pretty quickly.

George - under utilised. Potential key player and a crowd favourite.

Dowdell - signing of the season, although missed a few early. Will be invaluable this year.

Fearne may well give Warren until Crosswhite and Loughton are back, as I think he was brought in as a floor spreader. Problem at the moment is there arent many guys sucking the defence in to create shots. Still, you would like to think he could have hit at least a couple of his five attempts!
