Stadium Umpire observers

Nothing worse than going to a stadium and seeing the Umpire observer socialising instead of watching games and instructing umpires between quarters. After all what is this person payed to do. I say dont blame the ref's, the buck stops with this person and BSA. Just a little communication between them would be nice not going for a smoke or checking our the local BBq profit is going.

Great sport !!! shocking infastructure....

Foul Line that's great if that person's job was just to watch and coach the referees but in every Adelaide stadium that's not the case.

They're normally dealing with abusive parents or referees pulling out or filling pre-existing holes due to lack of numbers etc.

Try doing it one day before you complain and insult them.

nothing worse than seeing the same player/coach complaining every week, screaming for the court supervisor.

The umpires last night at the Tigers game should not be allowed to umpire an NBL game again. They were shocking!

Especially, loved the charge call on Grant when the player who took the charge was 30cms in the no charge zone.

IMO the problem was the direction.

NBL tells the referees that game flow is more important then actually calling fouls. So they let too much go then the game turns scrappy and dirty.

NBL should tell all clubs that all referees have been instructd to call games tight. Then they have to stick it out and wear the abuse they'll get until teams adjust and we can see some real up and down, free flowing games.

There were many examples last night where it was clear the ref saw contact that should have been a foul but didn't call it so the game wasn't stopped.

a few weeks ago at hillcrest on a tuesday night in a 23s game, the supervisor tried to over-rule a foul call made during the game, after talking to others for the whole game prior to this, saying it was 2 shots instead of baseline.... what a dick lol
