BOGUT INSURANCE OK...Now KINGS..BLAZE..or 36ers?

Insurance is all good...that now leaves us with AB making a decision. A decision maybe made as early as today!

Is Williamson still in Adelaide?

If so and we get Bogut could we get him to stick around and rehab in Adelaide with the promise of being bought back in when Bogut leaves for the NBA if/when he recovers from the injury in time.

Anyone in the know able to say if the 36ers are a realistic chance to get Bogut? it seems that we have the best spot for him as he would essentially be our 2nd import, so we should have a decent import wage and points wont be a issue, so we dont need to cut anyone or anything to fit him in where the Blaze and Kings would i think.

No announcement will be made today, which ever (if any) team he goes too will want to make the most of the announcement and AFL grand final day would be the worst day to do it.

BLAZE
MARK WORTHINGTON 10
ADAM GIBSON 9
JAMES HARVEY 8
ANTHONY PETRIE 8

STEPHEN WEIGH 7
DARREN NG 6
NATHAN CROSSWELL 6
NATHAN HERBERT 5
MITCHELL CREEK 3

Total = 52

Missing Points for
CHRIS WARREN

These are the points spread over last year, i think there will be one or two points adjusted over the list.
Assuming both warren and willimson where 10s we should be able to fit bogut.
Not sure who GC would cut to fit in bogut, they may and have to try something like the corletto fiasco.
And with Sydney its kind of hard to speculate where they stand on the points spread. Because half of the data for there team is missing

Those numbers are definitely a fair bit out OPT, as the above list would put all three teams over the points cap!

In Sydney's case, you'd think they would simply cut Grant to give them the 10 points to bring in Bogut.

Adelaide is easy, just bring Bogut in for the departed Williamson.

You'd think GC would just cut Hudson.

In terms of roster fit, GC is clearly the best destination for Bogut, because they don't have much in the way of Aussie big men. In Sydney and Adelaide's case, Bogut signing would negatively impact on Khazzouh and DJ and would also make their rosters a little top heavy.

Would still love to see Bogut in Adelaide though!

Anon is surely right about Bogut's signing not being announced today though. They will wait until tomorrow at the earliest.

Yeh i used those points as a guide for thoughts.

If GC cut Hudson would it be worth while Adelaide looking into hes services?

If Gold Coast do cut Hudson, I'd be more than happy for us to sign him.
Not only because I signed him in the FNBL, but he seems to be the standout new import. Probably would be better to get a more mobile option, but having someone who can score and pull down offensive boards would fit well.

Probably just move Iti. Ithink that's all they need to do. Could still just ley him hang around like the Tigers planned to do with Corletto and then reactivate hom after Bogut goes.

At least we play Sydney in round three at home, so there is good chance of seeing him play before the lockout ends.

Yeah if Grant is released, I think he would be well worth a look for the Sixers. Wouldn't be as mobile as Williams but should fit the bill as a low post scorer and rebounder.

Equally if Ratzsch were released, I think he'd be worth a look too.

These numbers should be fairly accurate, taking into account multiple year contracts:

Gold Coast (chockas - they have already said they will put someone on injury waivers and set it up for Wnglish to be that player recently in the press, which smells off to me)

Adam Gibson - 9
Anthony Petrie - 8
Chris Goulding - 1
James Harvey - 8
Jason Cadee - 3
Mark Worthington - 10
Stephen Hoare - 8
Tom Garlepp - 3
Mike English* - 10
Will Hudson* - 10
Total: 70

Adelaide (WERE chockas)

Adam Ballinger - 10
Stephen Weigh - 7
Nathan Herbert - 5
Nathan Crosswell - 6
Darren Ng - 7
Daniel Johnson - 6
Mitch Creek - 1
Chris Warren* - 10 (all new imports are 10pts regardless)
Wade Helliwell - 8
Total: 60

Sydney

Aaron Bruce - 5
Julian Khazzouh - 9
Graeme Dann - 6
Ben Madgen - 6
Luke Cooper - 4
Luke Martin - 5
Anatoly Bose - 3^
Alex Gynes - 3^
Kevin Ratzsch* - 10
Jerai Grant* - 10
Martin Iti - 4#
Total: 65

^ = Returning college players with 2+ years experience
# = this was his rating for 10/11, I don't see him getting injured and playing a minor role in NZNBL would increase that

With Dann injured still and likely to miss early games, as the likely "injury waivers" possibility, that's more than enough points to clear for Bogut.

so bogut will be playing mills in the opener on friday, 2 crimes involved here:

a)will be played in a 3,500 seat shed
b) will be broadcast 3 hours delayed at 10.30ish

hopefully these guys help the league grow and move past crap like that.

Wouldn't it be a kick in the pants for everyone if Bogut up and signed with say Townsville (they don't have Big Red for the first 2 months through a hip injury, a perfect replacement).

Personally though, I am over this $hit. I'll believe who Bogut has signed for when I read a legitimate article on the NBL or News website or I see AB himself on the telly saying "I've signed to play in the NBL with the ....."

Gold Coast think they have him locked in, 'sources' say he is going to the Kings and everybody else wants him to go to Adelaide but thinks that's a long shot. I think I might ask my dog if he knows who Bogey will sign for. If he barks 36 times I might believe him. But I'll probably start looking for hairs on the palm of my hand instead.....

Look, like most other here I hope he signs with Adelaide. But like I said, I'll believe it when everyone concerned (the NBL, whichever club and Bogut himself) comes out and says its a signed deal. Until then I won't believe he's singed with anyone, despite what some say or believe will happen.
