Best Aussie player not signed in the NBL

With only 9 NBL teams, are there NBL quality players outside of the current team rosters? Who is the best that have missed out?

Let's wait for the responses- should/could be entertaining for all
Many players could have made it but never got the opportunity or were cut too early.
Was it attitude, coach, greed or management which cost the opportunity?

Yeah good idea, put peoples names up so that people in the forum can cut them down. Leave it alone

I think a tenth team could be in the league this season and the quality wouldn't be any different.

That said, cbf listing players

Lindsay Tait missed out on a place this year. He was playing backup to ubaka for the runner ups last season.

I think Scoines missed out in Sydney, I thought he played pretty well in limited minutes for the Kings last year.

Holmes and Ben Knight also missed out.

Yes, there are enough spare players to warrant another team when 10th men are strong prospects like Creek, or imports are coming off the bench for many teams.

Bogut is technically an answer to this question if we're being pedantic like anonymous above, otherwise someone like Holmes is a pretty realistic response. I think if location and wife were not an issue, a team would've picked him up at some price.

Jacob Holmes would be a mention right? He's no star but he can rebound and I think be a good role player

He would have to be an aussie now right?

Jacob Holmes would be the best aussie floating around without a job. Guys like Ben Knight, Luke Kendall, Pero Vasiljevic are all lower on the food chain.

Import wise Rashad Tucker is probably better than at least half of this year's crop of imports (might be a naturalised aussie now anyway) too but his history and age would be working against him despite the dominant ABL season he had.

Still can't believe Shane McDonald hasn't been an NBL regular.

Seems like a highly skilled player, put up big numbers in SEABL etc.

I know he played for the Slingers and then for Perth..did he not perform in these games?

Shane McDonald was beyond woeful a couple of years ago for the Cats.

Maybe he's improved since then, I don't know.

"I think if location and wife were not an issue, a team would've picked him up at some price." - So its too inconvenient to for Holmes to move interstate but Europe isn't?

I was just guessing, may be wrong. I'm not interested in relocating within Australia, but I would do a stint in China, for example, for the experience. Also, being based in the middle of Europe opens up a lot of travel opportunities you just don't get even on the Eastern side of Australia. And his sister is over there somewhere too (Vienna?).

Tim Lang made SEABL all-star team so Id suggest he is better than all of Conn, Vandergagt and Cameron. Actually I wouldnt even suggest it, he is.
