LOL, Hume have had more coaches than ive had hot meals in the past 4 years.. something is seriously wrong with that club.. Too much dead wood running the place.
Hume are a basket case, no wonder decent coaches leave, the place has been run by the same people for 30 years, untill they get some fresh blood in the place nothing will change.
this club is royally screwed. NA was a idiot who messed up a good group and ruined the youth league team. Screwed over the coach too. I think the admin need to all look hard at who makes desicions and why. A broom is needed for sure. Word is that NA is dead man walking as no one wants to have anything to do with him.

Peter Jackson and Glen Milner are the 2 guys that need to be swept out the door! Terri does a great job in tough circumstances. Good luck to any coach that wants to build a culture there! You better be quick cause your out the door in 12-24 mths!
Milner trades of his daughters name and rep. Its his way or the highway. By all accounts the champ mens coach last season was a total fool and caused at least 2 long time club players to walk out mid season. Messed up the YL team and ruined thier chances of making finals. Word is he didnt even have the balls to show up to the presentation night.
Some funny stuff here, the YL coach was back stabbing everyone and causing all kinds of issues for the program. From everything ive heard the Champ Mens coach tried to bring some discipline, culture and direction to the program and certainly upset some who needed it. Im told he withdrew his application and didnt want to stay on due to some very poor behaviour by the club and decided to look for a better opportunity elsewhere.
Wow, hot topic. Im involved with the club and i can honestly say the Head Coach did a very good job under very difficult circumstances this year and should have booted the YL coach mid season which would have reduced allot of the problems he caused. From all reports from Ringwood he was trouble.
Norm will be missed by allot of people at Broady, its a pity he decided to pull out.
He certainly sorted a few out, unfortunately some of those in charge dont like change.
I hear Lowery will be suiting at Hume City next season as playing assistant! And that Bryar from Eltham will be following him across!

As someone who has been involved at the club at a variety of levels, it's sad to see what has been happening for the past few years. Yes there have been championships in the womens program - but at what cost?
Support is at all time lows for the senior program, the junior teams are struggling to make VC and the domestic competition is struggling.
So what does it need? And I say this with the point of view that it doesn't just need something to revive it - changes need to occur so that it survives. There needs to be a fresh view from the top. Decision making that makes more sense. At all levels. Start with some coaches that can attract players. So the Champ teams don't need to disrupt the YL sides every year so that they can put a team of 10 together. Success breeds success. Put something together that people want to be a part of. Give the kids something to aspire to. Don't provide an environment where every year the YL coaches have to go and ask Under 18 players to come and play because they haven't got the numbers. The senior program is for elite players, who are selected - they shouldn't need to be begged to play. Have meetings with senior coaches to discuss issues and player management, and allow the coaches to coach.
Some of you might say this all comes down to money. But it can be done. And the club has had people in the past who have been able to make it happen - as players and board members.
Most people don't even know who Peter Jackson is. Even some senior players. Not knocking him - but for those who don't know he is the President. Something which is frequenly confused with someone else appearing to run things.
All I hope is that 2012 is a year for change. For the better. And some sort of progress is made at all levels. Otherwise I may just become another one of those who leave for greener pastures and are told if you leave don't ever bother coming back.

Very well said Sweet72, the problems at the club this year were not the Head coaches fault at all, he tried very hard against all kinds of hurdles, no wonder he's left. The problem exists from the apathy at the top, zero leadership, just protectionism and denial of the issues.
you cant make a silk purse from a pigs ear and thats what norm tried to do. He failed to recruit a decent team past his starting 5 and then failed to keep players. The club gave him all the authority abd no money. Because he had no players he kept taking YL kids who where not up to playing but he wanted the numbers. Of course the YL coach was pissed and so were the players. Both coaches in the wrong place at the wrong time. As for the YL coach causing trouble I doubt that very much but if you want to be specific then go right ahead. I heard players were banned from playing YL so norm could have them "fresh" for a 3 min stint with him, that hardly seems fair and certainly is not helping the players development. Bottom line here is that not many of the champ men would come back under norm and that was made known to the club, all the YL players and parents wanted the YL caoch to be reinstated but that didnt happen.
Two good coaches put into a very bad situation and a sinking club with no direction or leadership.

Two good coaches put in a bad situation? Did not hear one good thing mentioned about the pair of them all year.
Sinking club? maybe
Norm did not try hard enough, 5-6 main players can not win a championship, certainly not with Maybank on the bench half the game.
Tony is just a whinging old man with a crap win loss record, not sure why he was appointed to start with.
Past YL coaches have had great success starting with Colin Sutton winning a championship whilst being coach of the year, Jamie Watt made the final series and Steven Paz? just missing out on finals if i remember last year.
I can not recall any problems with the YL teams over the last 5-6 years.
Peter the puppet, the puppet master himself Glen Milner, Norm and Tony have destroyed the mens program.
Surely it can only get better with new coaches next season.
They got D Lowery now so looking at his track record in the big v they'll go well!!! lol

All the results from where Lowery has played/coached have been negative, players like him, but results of the clubs go backwards (see Eltham for proof)
Should be interesting to see how too strong characters like Epperson & Lowery work together!
Hmmm I thought facebook was good......loving this one
Love it even more when everyone thinks we dont know who is talking it up here.........
Defamation is ripe and karma is even better....
This is gold!! Best of luck to Hume city next season and hope it works out for Ken & Damon.
Not sure if it is sour Hume people having a crack or a few of Ken's ex player who were giving him stick on Big V forum early this year!

this looks like an interesting forum...
I cant think of any problems with the mens program in the last 29 years.
Being part of the program this year, it was a shaaaaaamozzle!!
the champ mens coach did his best to turn a lowly placed Big V team into a SEABL like power house which was doomed to failure from the start. They just are not that good or well run. pissed off most of his own team early on and then because he lost two long time hume players he forced YL kids to only play and train for him. They even banned a kid for two weeks because he didnt want to play champ. All you needed to do was watch thier games, they hated thier coach and it showed.

Saw one or two of their games this year and if Brown wasn't in that team they would have been smashed by 60+ every week!
Maybe they need to stop ripping up $$$ on two imports and look to rebuild around Youth by putting the minutes into them over the next couple of seasons.
At least if you build a local core then you can go out and get a couple of solid imports to compliment the local talent.
