Probably a good move for Ando. His game is more suited to the Euro style, but at least he got a shot to show he can compete in the NBA.

He got 2 seasons more than most at NBA level. He played well in patches for the Rockets in his first season. Good luck to him, hopefully he comes back to the NBL before he finishes up his career.

This is the NBAs loss, I am a big David Anderson fan. I agree that he is more suited to the Euro style of play but IMO the only reason for that was that he didn't play enough minutes in the NBA. Have a look at the minutes of other NBA players that have their roots in Euro leauges, most don't hit the ground running. It takes them a few seasons to make the adjustments, often the team mates also have to adjust.
David Anderson is a genuine pick and pop specialist big man, as good as any other big pick and pop guy in the NBA.
IMO David Anderson is just a victim of the TV influeneced NBA style of play that is NBA is slowly becoming- run and gun, dunks and threes, everyone is tall and super athletic and not many structured offences are used. Bummer....

anon, i couldnt agree more. Im sure to say that he's one of the top 20 pivot players today with his natural skill on the post and outside shots. its just hard to imagine that NBA wont let him shine.

Without athleticism you have to have elite skill to make the NBA. Dave isnt at that level, but I am sure Siena are very happy to have him!

I've heard similar arguments made for Anderson, but then someone pointed out his games for Australia weren't that crash hot either. He's a talent, obviously, but maybe it's not just the NBA.

DEFENCE!!!

He would have done well at Golden State or New York. SInce they concentrate on scoring

He just isn't a good enough NBA defender, pretty much every opponent is faster and more athletic.

So unless they are running plays for David on offense so he can make up for the points he will leak on D.
He just doesn't justify the court time.
A lot of teams are basing their rotations on stats these days.
ie plus/minus
