Portland Trades

With Portland trading away both miller and Fernandez how does this affect pattys future next summer?

Will they resign him and will he get more meaningfull minutes this season or will they let him go in free agency?

If Portland don't resign him hopefully the spurs will look at him as a back up guard for Tony Parker

I dont think denver should have traded raymond felton because he is younger than miller and denver are looking to rebuild

But Felton would have been the back up pg in Denver as they have Ty Lawson who will start even with miller there and miller could help Ty improve his game

denver had no real point for another youngish guard in felton when lawson is gonna start and prob play 30mins. now felton gets his 30 at portland and patty gets 15. miller will be gd for lawson but will he like playing second fiddle to a kid. his egomay get best of this situation

Gone: Miller and Fernandez
Got: Raymond Felton and Nolan Smith

Plus: Jon Diebler

Great move by Portland, not so good news for Patty if Diebler comes good....

Diebler's an SG isn't he? Patty will probably be again competing for minutes with Armon Johnson. Now that Armon has a year of riding the pine behind him, McMillan may be more inclined to use him.

Unless of course Smith turns out to be a gun. But past history suggests that he will have to wait his turn on the bench just as Mills and Johnson did before him.

Mills isn't the 2nd PG anymore, Nolan Smith is an absolute gun, played for Duke and took place of Kyrie Irving when he was injured, and it's believed he will be doing more then just pushing for minutes, but become a core part of their rotation.

Patty will have to find a new team, but it won't be the Spurs, who have already picked up their new replacement for George Hill in Cory Joseph.

I think he did enough last season to suggest he can mix it with 75% of the NBA's second string PG. His Offence is good enough IMO to be a 15 min 8 point guy
