local club BSA award suggestion

I feel we should have an overall club award for the highest finishing clubs over the main season minor rounds.

Not just the GF winners get recognition - this would recognise the clubs that put the amount of teams and effort in and the teams that played well over the season.

A similar award is given by the SANFL (stanley H Lewis cup)

so if you finish minor premier Div 2 seniors get say 20 points, second 18, 3rd 17 etc

ABL you get 25 points etc

Div 5 minor premier gets 15 points, second 13 and so on.

then the points are tallied (can combine seniors and juniors) for an overall achievement trophy over the main season.


The award could be names after a basketball sa legend.

I think this is a great idea, it could really bolster club spirit, but give credit to everyone equally division 1 get same points at all levels, let the under 10 champions know they contribute as much to the victory as the abl champs. Really push the strong sense of belonging.

BSA recognise State Champs of one weekend of two divisions rather than a whole comp .

The lower divisions are just there to bring in revenue for the senior teams. They have no importance whatsoever.
