Jenna O'Hea to sign with Dandenong

From The Age, article was dated May 25:

Opals guard Jenna O'Hea has agreed to move to the Dandenong Rangers for the next WNBL season and is expected to sign within days.

O'Hea, who helped Bulleen to its first championship this season, is in Los Angeles for her rookie WNBA season with LA Sparks.

Bulleen assistant coach Michele Timms has said that O'Hea's contract from Dandenong was in 'six figures' but the Rangers say the contract is 'not even close' to $100,000 and was built around sponsorship and bonuses.

Timms, who said the Boomers would look to rebuild by signing younger, emerging stars, stood by her comments: 'We made her a good offer but Dandenong beat that by some way.'

Word is that Ardossi will end up with Bulleen. Exciting to see what the Boomers coaching line up will do with her!

Great to see WNBL and professional Basketball players being paid properly for their profession. Yes their should be a salary regulation - not with a cap, but with a minimum!!! Some of the young athletes playing in the league would fork out over $5k in expenses each year...it's time that Women's basketball in this country was given the funding, salaries and media it definitely deserves!!!

'cos you all need to remember, Opals ALWAYS finish higher than the Boomers in world rankings hmmmmm

This went under my radar - but its probably the biggest news we've had in a few years.

Jenna is after a pay check and I doubt many can blame her after the season she had. She's now a decent chance for the MVP.

jenna is doing well in the wnba - lot of minutes for a bench player in their rookie year - rebounds and threes.

i always thought she was tough enough to play wnba - will be a definite opal.

jenna was on the court guarding new york's number one go-to player (cappie pondexter) in the clutch last game - the 15th anniversary wnba game.

great game - on live access for free.

that is one big vote of confidence in your rookie )
