2005/6 WNBL / NBL sched - double headers

please, please fixture schedulers.

let's have the Lightning v Canberra game as the double header at the dome this season!

with jackson resigning and summerton getting close we will be seeing some great girls.

Graf coaching, Erin getting on her way - plus all the others it befits a great day at basketball - and I am sure some of the 36ers fans would rather come early to watch some names in a WNBL game than say last year - where only talent scouts, family and former coaches may watch the AIS v Lightning.

just a promo thought - may get a few 1,000 in the door and spend a few extra $$$

Very good idea and should be pencilled in ASAP and considering the Sixers are struggling to attract a descent crowd any more, it would be a very good promotional opportunity

And Iam sure the boys on this site would give it a very good run as well. LJ is a must to see next season.

The Lightning v Canberra game would probably be the biggest crowd puller for the girls for the season. Why would they give up their income from that to play it as a curtain raiser for the men. The Lightning are playing at Wayville to establish their own identity and also create some cash flow of their own. To play that game as a double-header with the men just defeats the purpose.

it's not an idenity thing at all - i like the odd double header - it brings them together a bit - not too much

LJ may be lured to Europe soon on the WNBA off season

I hardly think one game at a superior venue is going to make the Lighthouse wheels fall off.

it is a basic mathmatic thing - ie lighthouse holds 750 - they will easily get that - but the maybe fan might hold off - because they know the Lighthouse will be jammed - whereas 36ers fans could come early and the maybe fans will know they can get a seat - ie staying at the dome for 4-5 hours also means they may buy a meal

also if it is hot - give me the dome

i feel the lighthouse is already identified as their home

let's see

750 happy, squashed regular fans vrs 1,500-2,000 comfortable fans and basketball lovers -.mmmm....
