Australian dollar value

Do you guys think that the soaring Aussie dollar could effect the quality of American imports looking to play in Australia? They would be earning 40% more than 5 years ago. Does it make a difference?

No. Lets not forgot Europe (even lower leagues) is Tax free Euros (one of the stronger currencies in the world) and includes a free car and apartment/house. Yes people will say they are behind in payments and sometimes don't pay at all, don't be fooled. Imports are always looked after and the first to be paid. Usually its the locals who get screwed. I don't see this making a huge difference, but heres hoping it does. Im all for a better league.

It makes a minor difference but not much since the euro is much more valuable and they can make more there.

Imports are often not paid or paid much less than promised in Europe.

Average OKKA - I think you will find most Imports in Australia also have a house and car supplied.

Interesting. Given the impending NBA lockout and the current exchange rate, I'd think some might like to spend summer down under for a few 100 gs US a year!

The imports have to pay for their cars and rent in Adelaide.

Gary Ervin was driving around in a '98 commodore last season and Ty McKee was living in an apartment for 340 a week. Which means more cash sent home in the long run. Would Americans consider taking a pay cut to play in an English speaking country? A couple hundred thousand for a 30 game season would almost be a holiday for some pro ballers. thoughts?
