Hey, Has anyone ever heard or knows of someone who has used these guys? Its a company setup to help players get over to the states to play college basketball. The guy has come to me with a few offers but am not sure if its a legimate service and dont wanna fork out the money to sham.... the website is http://www.athletesabroad.com/
If you're any good, Colleges will know about you.
If you're not as good as some, find a good Australian coach to help you.
Just don't have delusions that you'll be playing Division 1 NCAA in front of 15,000 people. That's Kansas, Texas, Duke and UNC.
Go over there, get an education and have a valuable life experience. Then come back and play SEABL.
Don't pay anyone. Waste of Money.
good comment anon. too many guys expect to come back and play nbl. very slim chance of that happening.
Be very careful about paying anyone in advance for anything like that. If an offer sounds too good to be true, IT IS! I know a guy who got jibbed out of 3 grand using a similar "agency" type service and it was indeed a scam.
I definatly dont have any crazy expectations... I am just in a bad circumstance where i had surgery on my ankle last year and have left it very late to get over there so I am trying to exhaust every option possible. I am only looking at a juco and then transfering to an naia. I have never had any delusions about playing g1 ball before you get carried away. I thought i would just ask on here to see if anyone knew of anything.. Obviously teams will know about you if your at the ais but going to the states in a viable option for anyone who plays at a decent level with all the different divisions and types like ncaa juco and naia.....
