Market Rumors
Years ago

Why would players stay loyal to a club that can't offer market value? There is a huge difference from a club spending 800,000 (Cairns) vs Perth 1,000,000 (Perth). and retaining there players. If you just divide that by 10 thats an extra 20,000/player. Not asking for a 100,000 grand more each.

It's not like the old days where club were spending a mil over the cap, I bet if Cairns would just spend the cap it would make the players happy to stay.

(Teams aren't loyal to players so why do you expect players to be loyal to teams?) A player blows his knee out on the last year of his deal, you think the club will resign him for the same amount? probably not!

With Weigh playing ABA in Rockhampton do we expect him to be picked up by Townsville or Cairns?

It's good to hear lots of 2 and three year contracts happening. The last couple of years has seen most players only signing on for a year.
